Moses took a special delight in today's meeting. The biggest crackers of them all -- Theodore Williams and his wife, Allie, residents in the same neighborhood as him and Elizabeth. They'd fallen on hard times with a glut in their company's stock price. And they were here with the only leverage they had left.

Teddy had light-brown hair and was non-descript. He looked weak, soft, someone that had never put in a day of real work in their life. Allie, meanwhile, had all the beauty one expected from a former cheerleader in Alabama. She was a flawless thoroughbred, someone that rivaled even Elizabeth in the neighborhood. They had two white children that were the apple of every granny's eye in their boring, white neighborhood. And now Moses had a chance to change their family trajectory ... permanently.

"The project looks good," he said absently to Teddy. "You know the side price, yes?" Teddy looked squeamish.

"Um, well, we're neighbors, surely you don't have to ..."

"That was non-negotiable, Teddy," Moses said, using the derisive nickname that other wives used behind his back.

"B-b-b-ut ..."

"We'll do it," Allie said, looking very tired. Moses smiled smugly.

"Very good. Yes, peckerwood?" he asked, as Douglas came in.

"Jermaine Blount needs to see you, Sir," Douglas said. Moses nodded.

"Well, I think we're adjourned here."
