No one seems to disagree.
Safe house
Angie leads your group to Lylah’s old house, which still sits empty even after all this time. “You can stay in here for the night. Haven’t had a lot of traffic recently, seems like there’s more trouble on the road of late.”
You nod. “Ran into a bit ourselves, but nothing we couldn’t handle. Group of human supremacists, apparently.”
Angie sighs. “Yeah, heard they were around. They know better than to come around here though. And I’m glad you’re ok. For all that Naia’s a troublemaker, I like these two. And if they’re with you, I know the rest of you are good people too.”
Naia grins. “I’m a great judge of character! And I don’t make that much trouble!”
Aisha laughs. “Right. You know we grew up together, sis. How many times have I had to drag you away kicking and screaming from a bad idea?”
Naia crosses her arms and huffs, causing Marin to laugh. “I mean, we all know you pretty well by now, Naia. It’s not really a surprise.”
Naia turns to you. “Greg! They’re picking on me!”
You chuckle. “It’s all just teasing, you know we love you.”
Naia’s expression changes to a big grin. “Ooo, you said you love me! Yay!”
You laugh, and give the excitable raptor girl a kiss. “Of course I do. I’d be crazy not to!”
Angie smiles. “Well, I think that’s my cue to leave. You lovebirds have a good night. Marin, Julie, it’s nice to meet you. Good luck on the rest of your trip!”
Everyone waves goodbye, except Naia, who is too busy hugging you. She looks up at you, her eyes wide and excited.
