Sadly, you can't save him

The way back to the old bandit hideout is difficult to find. While fleeing from the chimera, you had no time to remember the way you took. The fight between Tocar and the chimera caused a lot of black burned traces all around the floor and a few small fires still burn. Tocar is easy to find. He sits at a tree, in the middle of the biggest and darkest burning mark on the battle field.

Tear roll down your face. It didn’t matter how fast you were by coming here. Tocar’s body is an ugly, black mass. His clothes are nothing but ashes. The burned corps also shows a deep hole in the middle of the chest. He must have used his last breath for a huge fire spell. Maybe to protect you as much as he still could.

You need to get it back to the guild. This is an important rule of the guild in case a mage travels with some kind of magic item that could cause huge dangers in wrong hands. Since there is nothing else to do, you leave this place and head back to the village.
