Sabina Apologizes

Loud insistent knocking wakes me up the next day. Sleepily, I go to see who woke me up. As I open the door, I see Sabina standing there with a bag of donuts. As I notice the bag, I forget about my sleepiness. Handing me the bag, she walks in, and I take out a tiger tail donut.

“I’m sorry about yesterday, Dixie. It’s just...”

After swallowing the bite I’d taken, I say, “You just got jealous and then went into a jealous rage because, for the first time, I got more attention than you.”

Taking a deep breath, she replies, “Yeah, the only part you left out was me potentially costing us a client. Oh, and more importantly, I might be getting fired.”

Grabbing her hand, I pull her over to the couch setting the bag of donuts down on the coffee table. “It’s fine, Sabina. I smoothed things over, and he’s not going to report what you did. Now you just need to stop being the selfish greedy little whore we all know you are,” I joke. Sabina lets out a laugh at that. “Ok, maybe you didn’t know that since you can be kind of clueless, but I knew.”

“HEY!” she exclaims before we both start laughing. Once our laughter settles down, she asks, “Seriously though, Dixie, what am I going to do if I get fired? I know you said you smoothed things over, but I highly doubt he’s just going to forget what I did.”

“Sabina, if Dedric hasn’t talked to you yet, you’re probably good. If he was going to report it he would have done it right away. So let’s stop worrying now. We got work tomorrow, plus Jackson is going to be there, remember?”

“Shit, I forgot all about that.”

“I kinda figured.”

“Well looks like tomorrow I can apologize in a whole different way.” She says with a wink at the end.

“Shut up.” Which just made her start laughing.
