It would be so easy to just use the contact that you made.

Pretend to be Athena. Tell Sal that you need a little favor in return: that there’s an upstart Pledge hiding in CGH House who needs to be taught a lesson. You can’t be sure, but you think that would have a high probability of working. On the other hand, you might not enjoy being taught a lesson, even if it would make it almost too easy to set your phone up in advance to record whatever happened.

But that’s not the way to go. You’ve shown CCL levels of audacity, and now it’s time to show CCL levels of sex appeal. A real CCL girl wouldn’t need sneaky plots, just the right outfit and some confidence.

After what happened last night and your success so far, you have the confidence. You just need the outfit. It’s time to bail.

You text both girls that you know will be at CCL House right now and secure a ride. You climb out the window and risk the drop to the lawn outside, taking the laptop with you. You shed the robe and mask and sneak away, climbing a fence to move through several backyards. It would undo your plan if a sexy female Spider-Man was seen running from the scene with a laptop under her arm.

Gina is the one who picks you up. She smells like weed and gives you quite a look as you climb into the car, mask and all.

“What? It’s me,” you say.

“I know it’s you,” she replies.

“Take me back. CCL business.”

“Oooh,” she says, and rolls her eyes. “Weren’t you doing nerd stuff?”

“It’s a secret.”

“Oh my god.”

Back at the house, you rush a shower and get ready as you would for a date with Athena. You don’t want to think too hard about what to wear for this, so you take an outfit that’s pre-made and requires zero thought: your tennis clothes. It’s a matching skirt and top, but instead of the shorts that are meant to go with it, you just wear white, cotton panties.

You check your reflection in the mirror. Where’s your confidence now? This is almost more difficult than breaking and entering. If you mess this up you will be so dead. You remember that Telltale game that traumatized you and Colby so much when you played it together. This will be even more difficult than just choosing dialogue options. You have to make up the dialogue yourself.

You wonder what Athena would do. Would she do this? Not to save herself, obviously. To save someone else? Some other CCL girl from Sal’s bullying? You like to think that she would.

You grab your purse and the laptop and get moving.

You drive your car straight to CGH House and park directly in front. After all, a person here to return a lost object has nothing to hide. You walk straight up to the door and ring the bell.

A girl answers it after a moment. Her hair’s a mess and she’s a little sweaty. She was probably using that spinning cycle in the back room.

“Hi,” she says. You can tell that she doesn’t recognize you. Why should she? It’s not a small enough school that everyone knows everyone, and CCL and CGH basically avoid each other at this point.

You need to say something.

“Is Sal here?”
