You smile as you look at the stolen computer in your lap. The difficult part is behind you. You sense that luck plays a role in your success in remaining undetected up to this point, but now the balance has shifted. You are the one holding the cards. You have the initiative and the tools. Ransom only works against certain types of people, and you don’t think that Sal is that type.

You delve into her devices. You find that she is living cleanly. There is no evidence of ****, illegal activity, or convenient nudes for you to try to leverage. Sal might be a narcissist and a bully, as implied by her behavior with Athena, but she’s functional and not stupid.

Even without damning dirt conveniently embedded in her digital life, there is still plenty to learn about her. You know what kind of birth control she uses. You know the names and addresses of her last three boyfriends. You know that she’s bi from her text history with several girls, but she’s engaged to a guy. That doesn’t seem to be stopping her from fooling around. Hard to blame her; her fiancé is on the other side of the country. They probably have an agreement.

Sal’s purchase and browsing history give you the basics of what she’s into. She seems to like bad boys and nice girls. The path to getting dirt seems straightforward. Something candid and embarrassing isn’t good enough. You need something problematic. Proof that she fools around with girls won’t do the job. It’s a problem in the eyes of the town and the university, but it’s weak. Everybody knows, even in this backward and repressed town, that such things happen.

But just as CCL stands for something to one group of people, CGH stands for something to the other side. CGH girls are team players. Collegiate sports are important. CGH is more mainstream and accepted than CCL. It’s respectable.

So if its leader was not only fooling around with girls, but with a CCL girl… that would be the end of Sal’s presidency.

And you know Sal’s type. She’s a CCL girl at heart. Ambitious.

This kind of scheming comes easily to you. You feel comfortable with it. Is this who you really are? Maybe so.

You need to get Sal naked and into bed with a CCL girl. You can’t risk involving anyone else, which means that girl is going to have to be you. You’ve come a long way with only small mistakes, but that means nothing: this approach is sudden ****. You’ll engage with Sal directly, which means there’ll be nowhere to hide if you’re busted.
