Thanks to everyone who engaged, I appreciate it.

Sounds like at the very least we need to give closure on Bruce and show some Mayor Babs. Here is what I propose: let's do Steph's story first and keep it linear. That gives me something like a breather and that part of the story gets resolved. And then after that, if enough readers are interested, we do a more robust Mayor Babs arc with votes and everything; being mayor is where are all the cool choices are.

For whatever it's worth, I do have both of them somewhat planned and even foreshadowed a bit, so it's not like I suddenly have to figure out what happened to Bruce. That was figured out at the very beginning because there was an opportunity to go looking for him back when Babs was still on her feet. I had to be ready in case the readers wanted to do that.

I saw that someone mentioned Cass. Penguin needs a better assassin than the two dead-themed guys, so who is that? Shiva. "Oh no, Alfred. Shiva's in Gotham. Who should we call?" So the stage is set for Cass and/or Dinah to join the cast, especially with Helena out with injuries, but that's beyond the two stories that we 'need' to wrap things up in a good and reasonable way. Realistically, if we want that stuff or for the story to continue beyond Detective Steph/Mayor Babs, someone's probably gonna have to commission it. (And that would be a problem for much later, whenever we're getting to the end of Mayor Babs).

Anyway, are we cool with that? Detective Steph runs on Sundays, maybe with the occasional vote, but mostly straightforward/just a smutty fic. And then we do the 'real' part 3, where the readers get to be mayor of Gotham? Does that sound OK?

Edit: looks like nobody objects, so we'll softly plan on this and I expect the new story to start in August.
