Chapter 3

Why is she here?
Running away from home
"Uh, hi Mr. Lee," she said meekly when I opened the door. "Could I hide out from the rain for a bit in here?"
Teri was dressed in a heavy coat, but one that wasn't suited to the rain. She was holding a wet backpack over her head which was only providing partial protection from the water.
I was still surprised, but clearly something was wrong. I figured I should make sure she was okay first before dealing with any of my many questions. I quickly invited her in. "Come on in, I'll grab you a towel and something hot to drink."
A warm glass of mint tea later, she was sitting on top of a bath towel in her everyday clothes -- loose-fitting pants and a crop top, damp pink hair still plastered to the side of her cheek. It gave the 19-year old a frail, **** look that I hadn't seen before on her.
"Okay, Teri. You know my son's friends are always welcome here, but...what are you doing here?"
Warmed up (at least inside), Teri regained some of her fire. "I was around here and was stupid and didn't check the weather. I got caught in the rain and needed somewhere to wait it out. That's all."
The story didn't check out. I lived in a very residential part of town -- nobody accidentally ends up around here. My skeptical dad instincts kicked in.
"Ok, if that's the story you want to tell. I don't believe you, but I won't make you tell me if you're not ready."
She glowered at me for a moment, opened her mouth, then closed it again. We sat in awkward silence for a while. While Teri was hot, I still had no thoughts at this point about sex -- she was a ****, much younger person in need of temporary shelter, seemingly with a lot going on right now. And, as a friend and classmate of my son's, would be the source of a lot of complication.
Then, out of nowhere, she blurted out, "Do you want a blowjob?"
Where the hell did that come from?
Do you take her up on it?
