Runaway Pokemon!

The man seemed to remember something important, starting to explain what he was doing here in the first place: "Oh my, I'd completely forgotten! I had just caught up to these three runaway pokemon when you tumbled out of the sky. It's almost as if they knew you'd appear here!"

What a coincidence, almost as if it's your fate to meet them.

"These three pokemon belong to me, mysterious creatures that they are!" He jovially explained. You've always heard from the professors and trainers that pokemon were still full of mysteries, even with how much research has been done into them over the years. From why they can only learn 4 moves when not punching, kicking, and biting in combat, to rumors of the endless libido of some species, and even how other species have survived as long as they have. Pokemon truly were full of mysteries indeed.

Is this what Arceus meant by a world strange to you? After all, the world was already pretty strange. Nothing seemed to faze you anymore.

Except for that giant swirling ominous cloud over a tall mountain which seemed shrouded in shadow.

But other than that, what you've seen so far doesn't seem super strange.

"Oh yes, and... What might your name be?" The man finally got around to asking you.

"Rei." You responded.

"Oho! So you're called Rei! That name has quite the ring to it! I imagine it must have some lovely meaning." The man complimented your name, making you unsure of what to feel. Rei was an OK name, certainly not that special, you thought to yourself.

"Oh, but I do apologize! I haven't even introduced myself!" The man started to finally get around with a self-introduction after all this talking, "My name is Laventon. I am something of a pokemon professor."

Professor Laventon. So that would be the first person in this place that wanted to help you out. Hopefully everyone you ran into would be like this.

And a professor at that? Usually professors were trustworthy and noble individuals, though you did hear some rumors about a sketchy professor and their research in a faraway region called "Paldea" which led to some notable consequences...

"That is to say, I'm a scholar seeking to deepen our understanding of pokemon." The professor elaborated on what his job entailed, "Yes. Pokemon such as these three here, whi-"

Before Professor Laventon could finish his sentence, the three pokemon immediately started to turn and ran off, running as far and fast as their puny little first stage evolution legs could carry them.

"Oh blast and bother! My darling pokemon! Why must you run from me again?!" You watched on as the professor shouted in exasperation, feeling a sense of pity knowing how uncooperative pokemon are a pain in the ass to handle.

"I'm terribly sorry, but do you think you could help me round them up? I beg you!" Before you could respond, he ran off after them, shouting for them all the while.

"Wait, you three! Waiiit!"
