Royally Screwed

Elan didn't know how much time had passed since the female knight had (one) punched him into oblivion. But given how still everything was, he guessed it must had been pretty late hours. He took that opportunity to make stock of his situation.

According to what that woman said, it was safe to assume that his master had teleported him into the chambers of some princess. Elan's understanding of politics was rather limited, but even he knew his survival prospects were pretty low. If they decided he had been up to no good, they would execute him. If they thought he was just a victim of circumstances, they would still execute him to avoid putting the princess's chastity into question. And if he were to lead them on by coming up with some conspiracy ploy, they might let him alive a bit longer, but the moment they realised he was lying... you guessed it, they would execute him.

Given the security details he had seen so far, escaping was probably possible for someone of his caliber. However, without any connections or even knowing where he was, they would just capture him again... assuming they didn't execute him on the spot for even trying to run away. He ultimately decided that dying now would accomplish nothing. His master would be mildly annoyed for a bit, and then she would find a different test subject. What Elan needed was to teach her a lesson she wouldn't forget, and if he had to relay in her creation to do it, so be it. Now, he just needed to fin-

*squeak*

His thoughts got interrupted by a nearby squeaking and chewing sounds. Following the noise, he immediately spotted a number of small shadows around where the contents of his empty stomach should had been.

"Rats," Elan realised with a hint of aversion, before a grin appeared in his face, "I can work with that..."
