Royal Visit.
As the majestic carriage rolled smoothly along the cobbled streets, Queen Amelia sat comfortably nestled between sumptuous silk pillows adorned with delicate gold thread embroidery. Across from her, Maria sat attentively, ready to serve her beloved queen without hesitation. Both women were dressed modestly yet elegantly, donning fine lace dresses complemented by intricate jewelry crafted from precious metals. Their soft whispers filled the enclosed space of the royal carriage, leaving no room for doubt – they shared an unbreakable bond which only strengthened over time. Amelia asked Maria what she thought of this royal visit to Julan. The two had discussed various tactics to impress Queen Juliette and Prince Omar before arriving at any potential agreements. "Well," began Maria, fiddling nervously with one end of her golden necklace, "We should aim to project our confidence and wisdom, even though we might be younger than them." Amelia nodded in agreement, taking care not to wrinkle her fine linen gown as she shifted position slightly in her seat. They discussed the many traditions of Julan and some were similar to Sarella's traditions. That would be common ground that they could start with said Maria. To showcase their intelligence, it was essential for them to engage with the subjects of art, literature, history, and culture during these initial interactions. They also needed to establish connections regarding politics and trade matters, given the significance of this alliance.
Throughout all these discussions, there mustn’t be any hint of subservience, since equality was paramount when dealing with their counterparts from Julan. "Agreed, my lady," replied Maria solemnly, bowing gracefully in deference to her queen. "Our knowledge will surely win us respect among the royals of Julan." said Amelia confidently, adjusting her elaborate tiara gently resting on her head. Maria couldn't help but feel a surge of pride hearing such conviction coming from her queen. This journey held immense importance for both nations - it promised prosperity through collaboration while simultaneously presenting challenges due to cultural differences. They understood the need to navigate carefully in order to strike a balance wherein neither side felt inferior nor superior in comparison. Their carriage rumbled across the border connecting Sarella and Julan. Amelia thought about seeing Prince Omar again how would their feelings be now she was a Queen. She thought back to that night in the tent when she returned to Sarella. Memories of his tender touch and passionate kisses made her heart race once more. Would he still see her as an equal? Or would her newfound status affect him differently? Queen Amelia sighed lightly as the wheels continued turning beneath them. Meanwhile, Maria watched closely, sensing her mistress' inner turmoil. Noticing Amelia's distraction, she subtly touched her arm reassuringly, conveying support and understanding. "Queen Amelia, you know your worth, both as a monarch and a woman.
Trust yourself, believe in your abilities, and never let anyone underestimate you." Her soothing voice echoed throughout the carriage, offering solace amidst the tumultuous thoughts swirling inside Amelia's head. Nodding gratefully, the queen acknowledged Maria's guidance wholeheartedly. They finally arrived at Julan's Royal Palace after a day of traversing across breathtaking landscapes dotted with noting but sand and dunes. They arrived at the Sarellan Embassy where Lady Felina met them. With her graceful walk and captivating smile, she ushered Queen Amelia and Maria into a luxuriously appointed chamber. As night settled over the embassy grounds, candlelight flickered across the polished surfaces of furniture. Intricate patterns traced themselves onto the wallpaper above. After some dinner and wine both Amelia and Felina discussed the upcoming meeting with Queen Juliette. Amelia expressed her nervousness while Felina reassured her that Queen Juliette was highly admired and respected throughout Julan and would surely welcome the union with Amelia's kingdom. Feeling slightly more confident, Amelia moved to change the topic of conversation, hoping to lighten the mood. After the brief discussion they both retired their chambers ready to sleep. Amelia could not help dream about Prince Omar and seeing him again tomorrow. Her heart felt heavy as she had decided that their union could not go anywhere due to their royal duties.
