Rovni lets her horde celerbrate and plots

As the evening fell over the glade Rovni looked into the bonfire her horde had made, thick slabs of bear meat stuck on sticks, roasting around it, her goblins chattering away amongst themselves, occasionally pointing to their chieftess.

Rovni smiled from the log she sat on and looked down at her feat, her sack of gold peak out in the fire light, Rovni shut her eyes in thought.

Gold was good but it did nothing sitting at her feet, she needed to use it to equip her horde, though few would sell to goblins she could work around that, her father was the war-chief of their clan, a few days westward, he would make a trade.

"Weapons, tools, food, building supplies, armor, bedding and information." Rovni muttered, going over all the things she needed to obtain for her horde.

"Chieftess?" A goblin spoke beside her and Rovni opened her eyes and glanced at the goblin, shorter than most of the others with brown shaggy hair.

"Sap, what brings you to me?"Rovni asked her smallest lieutenant with a raised eyebrow, to which he offered her a stick with a sizeable, well cooked hunk of the bears flank stuck on it, "My thanks, take a seat." Rovni said taking a bite of her meal.

Sap looked hesitant for a second before hopping on the log to her right, Rovni ripped off a piece of her meat and handed it to him. Sap took it with a cautious look at Rovni, like she would rip his head off for accepting the food.

"Chieftess, give?" Sap muttered confused before taking a bite of the meat.

"Yes, there is plenty for all, and we will all need our strength in the coming days, if we are to establish a strong camp and defense than we need everyone able and fed." Rovni replied, giving Sap a pat on the back before resuming her meal.

Sap finished his meal before Rovni and looked at her intently for a moment before speaking, "Marg, Marg made goblins work for him, Chieftess Rovni work with? Chieftess Rovni give?"

Rovni grinned at the chance to improve her standing once more, "Yes I give because I am better than Marg, I don't need to take, to hide, to have others do all my work, I am a good leader, a good leader shows the way and stands by and tends to their people no matter who they are, goblin or otherwise." Rovni explained, well aware other goblins were listening in on their conversation and her statement would rapidly circle the camp.

Sap looked at her for a moment before nodding in acceptance and bidding farewell, returning to the goblin festivities.

Rovni held in a sigh, claiming power was easy, she knew that, maintaining moral and loyalty was harder, she had her goblins at her knees but she had to deliver on her claims, the region was rich in game, and she knew goblins were able hunters and trappers, they would thrive in that regard.

Teaching new skills, martial, economical and engineering, would take time, but she knew the goblins were able.

Plunder was harder, what she had was a good start but she needed more before making a trade, a cart and horses would also be useful, her goblins also had no women, and while Rovni had no qualm sharing her bed, fifty goblins were another matter, she needed slaves for her soldiers relief and breeding.

Goblin children took a third of the time to be born and matured in a year, so Rovni knew she could build her hordes size as well in raiding, but their state of equipment limited their options to caravan raids and farmsteads.

But before all that she needed a camp.

Rovni took a careful look around at her goblins and felt a sense of pride, many looked at her during their conversations and cheered now and then, or laughed loudly into the night, they may not have been much now but they approved of her and that was a start.

Rovni grinned at her future plans and soon retired for the nigh, dreaming once more of her ambitions with her horde.
