"Yes!"
Round 2
Right after I say yes he charges me. He raises his left hand to punch and I jump backwards. I notice my new Thought Acceleration skill activating and my thoughts feel like they're racing. Suddenly an idea hits me and I can't help but smile. Why are all my ideas so stupid. I think before charging him. I start marking the ground with Explosion with every step. Fortunately the marks are invisible so to my gramps and the girls, I'm just running at him. I swing my blade down and he easily dodges it. I see, out of the corner of my eye, him swinging his right arm at me. I take out my wings and use them to jump above him. He looks up at me either shocked or impressed and gets ready to attack when I land. I cast Ancient Beast Slash and send it at him making a cloud of dust appear as he jumps back, giving me space to land. I continue marking more Explosions and dodging his attacks, barely making any counterattacks. After twoish minutes of this he stops fighting to talk just as I place the last mark.
"Eric, you can't win if all you do is dodge." He says putting his hands on his hips.
"I know, but do you really think I've just been dodging?" After hearing this he starts looking around for any signs of an attack. I activate the Explosion mark under him and he quickly jumps back.
"So that's what you were doing. I have to admit, I didn't think you knew this spell." Before I can reply he charges at me and I quickly activate the marks he steps over. Unfortunately for me he dodges them and right before he gets to me I Blink to a space seven feet to my left. As I hoped he runs for me. I Multicast cast Vine Trap and Dark Chains trapping him. I pull out my wings and jump straight up and activate all the Explosion marks. The ground bellow me lights up to a blinding degree. I get a number of damage notifications but don't bother reading them all. I try to hover in the air, and end up slowly falling. I look down and suddenly see my gramps shooting out of the smoke. Before I can react he grabs me and we go flying faster than my wings can handle. I put them away and we crash into the sky. I see the air ripple and look down to see the tree line bellow.
"Don't worry, we're at the edge of barrier." My gramps says calmly. I look back to him and see he's holding onto the air, causing it to distort and constantly ripple. His other hand is firmly grasped onto my Chestplate. "Just wanted to give you a scare but I will admit, you got me. I've never seen those chains and expected you to use that slash attack, not the Explosion spell." He lets go of me and the wall and I take my wings back out. I use them to slow my descent but still crash. Fortunately I landed on my legs and managed to stay on my feet. "Your getting used to the wings." He says brushing off some debris from his cloak.
"Yeah, I spent most of the time you were out practicing. It's always been a fantasy of mine to fly." He laughs hearing this before turning to me seriously.
"Eric, now that you've managed to hit me with an attack I'll be giving you the item I promised." He pulls out another scroll and opens it right as the girls get to us.
"What is it?" I ask as we appear back in my, still open, doorway. He just motions for me to follow him and we enter Claire's apartment. Claire's sitting on a recliner, knitting when we get in.
"Zack, how'd he do?" She asks seeing us.
"He did it. Blew up the entire field but still did it." He answers grabbling a long rectangular box. "Here you are." He says handing it to me.
"What is it?" I ask him again taking it.
"It's something your mother made. It's a type of Spellbook that she wrote. It'll teach you the school of magic she made. It's also the only school of magic she never taught anyone else."
"Why didn't she teach it?" I ask, wanting to know but also wanting to go home and read something she wrote.
"It's something only... How do I put this... Okay, only members of your mothers race can learn this magic. And before you ask, I've never seen her cast it. I don't even know the name of it. I found it shortly after she died, along with some other stuff I'll give you later. Anyway I found it with a note vaguely explaining what it is and to give it to you after I decided you were ready."
"What other stuff? And how are you not injured?" Asami asks, having followed us in with Luna next to her.
"I can't say yet, but you'll get them soon. And I used a scroll to heal myself before jumping. Although it was only a couple bruises. My Stigma increases my bodies natural defense so not even bullets can pierce my skin." He laughs after saying this and puts his hand on my shoulder. "Well? Go on, I'm sure you're dying to know what's inside." I nod and say bye to them. Asami and Luna follow me back to my apartment and enter my domain with me.
"Do you want to be alone for this?" Asami asks.
"Nah, I don't mind you guys being here." Asami smiles and we enter the bedroom. Once we enter I see a big box by the bed.
"Oh yeah!" Luna almost shouts running up to it. "A cat appeared earlier while you were at school. It appeared on top of this and had a letter. It handed it to me but it's addressed to you." She says pulling a letter out of the nightstand drawer next to the box.
"Well, I guess this can wait. The guild is important." I say, sadly, while setting down the box from gramps and taking the letter from Luna. Asami hugs me from behind and Luna does the same from my front.
