Room 9

Looking at the door with a raised eyebrow, you find that it looks extremely... ordinary. There was nothing strange about this room from the hallway, so you leaned towards it and tried to listen from the outside.

There was music, strangely. Something more old fashioned, perhaps dating back to the 80s. That's when you heard a voice that seemed to be singing.

"...move in a straight line. You've got to walk and talk in four four time! You can't be weird in a strange town... You'll be betrayed by your accent and manners!" The voice sings, with the music playing in the background. You chuckle, listening to the rock music and singing for the next few moments before knocking on the door.

You wait a few moments, but there's no answer. You knock again. Still no answer.

Muttering an apology, you open the door and look inside of the room.

The room was almost identical to your own, yet it seemed darker. The curtains were drawn and a large pair of speakers sat on the dresser. In the centre of them, what seemed to be a laptop. You walk into the hall and poke your head around the corner of the bedroom, only to see an average-looking guy with long hair. He was wearing a pair of jeans and a plain black shirt.

He looks at you and squints at you. "Uh... are you the maid?"

You shake your head and step out from the corner to introduce yourself. Fuck it, you think, here we go... another human being.

"Hi." You smile politely. "I'm a neighbour from Room 4. I thought it'd be good if I introduced myself to the neighbours so... here I am. I don't know who I am so I don't know what you should call me."

He opens his mouth to speak but stops, turning onto his side and grabbing a pair of black glasses. He puts them on and blushes as he realises your nudity.

"Oh... uh... right. My name's Damien. That's all I know..." He struggles to make eye-contact with you and looks down. "Uh... well... it's nice to meet you but... why aren't you clothed?"

You let out a sigh. "Strangely enough, I don't have any. My room was more or less empty when I woke up."

He points to his dresser, still looking away. "Please... take some."

You stutter and thank him as you pull open one of the drawers.

"They should definitely have something for you... when I checked them, they were full..." You hear him mumble, occasionally stumbling over his words mid-sentence.

You nod and pick out a pair of small black briefs, a navy turtleneck sweater and some cargo pants. The cargo pants were green, but not green enough to stand out.

"Are you sure? I'm fine if you don't want me to have them. I can leav-"

"N-no! Have them. Please." He interrupts.

Blushing, you head back into the hall and begin to get dressed, feeling much better than you did previously. The sleeves of the sweater are slightly too long, but you roll them up and chuckle. Peering into the bathroom mirror, you smile. At least you were finally dressed.
