Chapter 6 by 0anon0 0anon0

What's next?

Room 5

You walk through the doorway into another room. Opposite you is a door that opens into darkness. Above it, you see the words {if@ Time (seconds) > 0}"{@5500 Time (seconds)} seconds" etched in Arabic numerals. You realise that you don't have a lot of time left to escape from the curse. {else}"YOUR TIME HAS RUN OUT" etched into the stone. You realise that your have failed and are going to be cursed.{endif}

This is the largest room you've been in so far. It's obvious why. In the centre of the room lies a richly decorated sarcophagus, leading you to conclude that this is Imhotep's burial chamber. The sarcophagus is festooned with a variety of jewels of all shapes and sizes and embellished with gold and silver. Clearly, Imhotep wanted to make sure that everyone in the underworld knew he was an important person. On the top of the sarcophagus is carved a flower with five petals, clearly the architect's sign you've been looking for.

The walls around the rooms are also richly decorated, etched with scenes ranging from architecture to warfare to the intricacies of the Pharaoh's court. Scattered throughout these scenes are hieroglyphs detailing the images around them. You could learn a lot about the Ancient Egyptian's lives from this room alone. You notice that one patch of symbols seems to stand out compared to the rest. {if@ Button 5 = true}Since your last visit here, you're certain that at least one new symbol has appeared there.{endif}

Your eyes, however, are drawn back to the black doorway opposite you. Unlike the other doorways in this pyramid, you can't see anything in the room beyond; rather, there's only a red glow inside it. You guess that it's a portal like the one you used to get into these rooms.
