Rogue's next day (is a complicated one)

Rogue took some time to come down from her high that night, but, once she had, she was able to get in a nice sleep and upon waking up, was once again amazed that there were no ill side effects of Edge.

That was quite the crazy night. She thought to herself as she went about her morning.

She was getting ready to send her report about the past few days (while omitting certain things) to Jean when she got a knock at the door.

Rogue nervously went to the door and peered through the hole, she was confused by the presence of Scott Summers, he knew she was undercover, but she had been told that Jean was the person she'd report to.

"Scotty, what the hell are you doing here?" She asked as she let him in.

"Look, I hate having to do this to you, but things are getting weird." He said.

"What do you mean 'weird'?" She asked him, already she was confused.

"We tried to take down an anti-mutant outfit because we'd heard rumors they were planning something big and, yet again, they were ready for us, to the extent that they even seemed to know exactly what the plan of attack was." Scott said.

"So it's not just the Muties getting inside info?" Rogue asked, feeling a sickness in her stomach that this might have been pointless.

"It appears not, which means that your mission is now even more important." Scott said, Rogue merely gave him a wordless grunt in response.

Something about this news had clearly left her distracted but Cyclops couldn't pry any other info out of her.

Scott wanted to figure out what was going on with Rogue, but he figured out that it wasn't gonna happen today.

Instead, he decided to put a pin in it and come back later.

After a bit more conversation about the situation, Scott left, promising that he'd get to the bottom of this.

That left Rogue with the question of what this all meant for her.

What if they could find whoever was behind this without her help, would that make everything meaningless?

Also it could give the X-men enemies a lot of ammunition if it came out that she had fucked one of the Muties and done Edge with them.

Ammunition that some would take extra joy in using against Remy.

The only time she'd been able to get her mind off the idea that her relationship with Remy was going to be completely torched as soon as he found out what she was doing (which she thought about often) was when she was high.

Which, at the moment, made it tempting to do more Edge and lose herself to the sensation, but she couldn't do it, she constantly felt like she had to prove to herself that she wasn't addicted.

So, she paced back and forth around her apartment, for the next few hours, her thoughts becoming consumed every excuse she could come up with to tell Remy if she was exposed.

Then she started thinking about what other groups the mole could be giving info to.

It was on two different extremes: A mutant gang and an anti-mutant group.

What could the connection be there, or maybe there was no connection at all.

Maybe the mole just wanted to cause problems for the X-Men.

But even that had one question to it: Why?

She pondered it for as long as she could, until a feeling in her stomach made her realize that she'd barely ate anything.

She had to get some food in her stomach and she decided that the best way to do that was to run out and get something from a local bakery.

She threw on a few things and was almost out the door, when she got a text from an unknown number.

"Hey, heard you had a lot of fun last night!" The message said, followed by a pair of eye emojis.

Rogue immediately got a chill through her.

"Who is this?" She texted back.

"Just a friend." Came the response with a winking emoji.

For a brief moment, Rogue thought it could have been Stud, but she quickly ruled that out when the person told her not to worry about Stud, she was jealous but she'd have to learn to live with whatever was going on between Flex and her.

"Seriously, who is this?" She demanded, she knew it was a long shot, but she still tried for it.

Rogue had to calm herself and find out who this person was before they said anything to the wrong person.

If she didn't, everything to continue to unravel.
