Worry started to set in as Roger's muscles began to burn. His clothes absorbed water, weighing him down, the water was shockingly cold, sapping his strength even more. He was quickly losing steam! He frantically looked around for the branch that Becky and the girl were at, to see if he could use it as a rest stop, but it was upstream, beyond his reach. He splashed in the water, trying to fight the current that was dragging him towards the rocky rapids, but was quickly losing that battle. The **** flailing quickly burned up even more of his energy. The last thing he saw was Becky and the girl being bound up and dragged away by the band of brigands. They were too busy with each other that no one paid attention to his plight. He gasped and gurgled, trying to call for help, but the water quickly went over his head. Then, Roger hit against something hard in the back of his head and everything went dark. The raging waters kept his body under it's depths, unable to find in time. Roger drowned.
