Rock of Ages

Eric opened his eyes. He immediately noticed Jenny beside him. She had bright blue hair and a bright yellow dress. The dress had a high neck and was tight against her chest but loose elsewhere.

Eric noticed he was wearing a Canadian tuxedo. He looked at Jenny quizzically.

"Welcome to the 60s baby!" She yelled, giving him a peace sign. "Come on, we don't want to miss the show!" She grabbed his hand and pulled him along. They were inside a closet. Jenny opened the door and led him down a passageway. They could hear music and screaming fans and finally Jenny opened a door as they could see the stage rising up in front of them and beyond that a huge crowd.

Eric instantly recognized John Lennon about 20 feet away from him. It was 1964 and the Beatles were playing their very first show in Toronto. Jenny hollered and danced to A Hard Day's night.

Just as the song was ending security seemed to notice them there. Jenny yelled, "Run!" And grabbed his hand. Dragging him back the way they came. They made it to the closet and slammed the door just before security caught them. Jenny locked over a shelf and pulled him into the time machine. The world distortion as they disappeared.

Jenny was ecstatic. Her first concert was a success. She'd actually just seen the Beatles live. What a blast. They were back in the closet, just another time. She'd been here during her prep period to set everything up.

"Wow, that was awesome. I can't remember if you even like the Beatles but don't worry. We got lots more. I worked here when I first moved to Toronto and couldn't get enough work modeling to pay the bills. I was always sad that this venue had seen such amazing acts before I was even born. So I've decided we're going to see them all, or at least as many as we can get to in time. We have four hours of experience so I want to only do a song or two from each band so we can see everyone. Before we head into this one, any requests?"

Eric thought hard, he didn't know who had even played here, but always wished he'd been able to see Queen live with Freddie Mercury. "Did Queen ever play here?"

Jenny grinned. "They are on the list. But right now we are going further back in time. Any guesses who we are going to see?"

"Not a clue." Jenny said nothing and dragged him along. They burst onto the stage to see Elvis dressed in a gold suit swinging his hip as he crooned.

After one song Jenny pulled him back to the closet. "Wow, that suit was a little extra. Ok next stop the 90s!" Jenny squealed and pulled Eric into the time machine.

Stepping out Jenny pulled him along as fast as before. Just before getting to the stage she saw a security guard and slowed down. "Don't worry, I planned ahead." She reached into her bra and pulled out a lanyard that had her photo and said security on it. "Wait here."

Jenny stepped out and walked towards the guard. "Hey, you're Todd right? Mark says he needs you over at the main entrance. Didn't say why. He sent me to relieve you."

Todd looked confused, but in the end walked away. Jenny waved Eric on and they went out to the stage.

Kurt Cobain was singing Come As You Are, Jenny started to dance immediately. Eric watched her amazed. Not that he was an expert, but Jenny couldn't dance. She wasn't in time with the music or even dancing like others in the audience. She was doing her other thing, but apparently having a blast. She didn't really seem to care how she looked, she just wanted to have fun.

Besides, all the movement in her chest was pretty pleasant to watch no matter how she danced. The drummer, Eric didn't know his name, noticed Jenny and paused to point a drumstick at them and grin. After the song ended Jenny waved bye to the band and the two ran back to the time machine.

"Next stop just a few years back. Let's go!"

Running out to the stage this time they heard the tale end of the band introducing themselves. Fleetwood Mac started to play Say That You Love Me. Once again Jenny started to dance but she threw her arms around Eric's waist and made him dance too. Eventually their dance became them hugging and swaying, her head nestled into his chest. As the song ended she lifted her head and kissed him.

Kissed the Master +3VP

Eric was surprised by the kids, but pleasantly. He kissed her back even as the next song started. Eventually she broke it off and smiled at him. "I'm having a really good time. I hope you are too. Next I have Bowie on my list, still interested?"

Eric nodded and they were off to 1979 to catch Bowie and 'Heros'. Then they went to 1973 for Pink Floyd and Eclipse. Next was forward again to 1997 for No Doubt, then way back to 1969 for Jimi Hendrix.

Jenny was having the time of her life, Eric was just happy to be along for the ride.

At the next stop Eric knew the band before they even reached the stage. He recognized the vocals of Freddie Mercury as he hurried to the stage. As they opened the door the band began to play Under Pressure. They stayed for a few songs this time, Fat Bottomed Girls, Crazy Little Things Called Love and finally Bohemian Rhapsody. Before the end of Rhapsody Jenny tugged his arm, "Sorry we have to go, one last stop before our date ends." They hurried away.

This time when they opened the time machine door Jenny grabbed some jerseys off the floor and threw a blue and white jersey at him and pulled one on herself. Eric looked at it, it was a very old style of leafs jersey. He looked at her, "When?"

"Come on." Jenny pulled him along. This time they went a different path, climbing a little higher in the arena. She opened another door and he could see it set up as a hockey rink.

The Leafs were skating against the Canadiens. The score was 3-1 and there were only seconds left. Then the horn sounded and the crowd burst into cheers. The Leafs had won the Stanley Cup, their final one for at least the next 56 years.

Eric was thrilled. He turned to Jenny and kissed her.

"Sorry." He said.

Jenny shook her head. She pulled him back and kissed him again. They were still kissing when they disappeared and Jenny appeared back in the great hall.
