Robin gets caught in a trap

"I bet they're, like, weird cultists! They probably got kicked out of their village by their parents and came here, trying to summon evil snake demons from beyond the known world, then, once they do, they're gonna try and trick the demons, to make them their slaves, so they can ride them throughout the kingdom and hunt down anyone who doesn't bend to their evil whim!" Robin kept talking, but Fuu and Emmaline had long since tuned her out.

The main prayer chamber opened into a small hallway, which had a few doors, though most seemed to be closets, housing nothing but cleaning supplies, like soap and buckets or texts in a language none of the company knew how to read, strange slender, curved lines. The temple was silent but for the sound of Robin's voice as the Bravos reached the end of the hallway. There, another door opened into a long descending staircase, an unlit hallway stretching out below it. Emmaline lit a small flame in her hand, sending the makeshift torch to float out in front of her as the group descended.

As they made their way down, the brickwork grew less well maintained, with mosses and small plants growing out from the ever growing frequency of cracks in the walls. The materials seemed to shift as well, their color moving from a light grey into deeper reddish browns, more clay-like than stone, though this was difficult to tell in the unsteady light of a flickering flame.

They passed beneath a doorway, leading into another wide hallway, this one set crossways with the staircase, and filled with a number of doors. It seemed their investigation would take a while.

"We ought to be careful," Fuu started to say, carefully tracing her fingers along a nearby section of the wall. "We don't know what could be down here. We need to stick together, keep an eye out for each other, and if anything looks like something we can't handle, we turn back, okay?"

"Got it" Emmaline agreed, Emmaline had just opened her grinning mouth to speak when she stepped on a plate in the floor.

"I--" Emmaline started to speak, her face still smiling when before the eyes of the other two Bravos Robin seemed to completely vanish. It was like she had never been standing there to begin with, one moment she was there and the next, gone without a trace.
