Chapter 24 by emdubem emdubem

But maybe at least do it once?

Right

Deciding to just feel out the forest's temperament you go against the wind and follow the right path. The path is wide, visibility high. The canopy just open enough to give you a good amount of light while not leaving you too exposed. Maybe forests favour the bold. You continue walking through lush green, the sound of ordinary birds guide your walk and after half an hour your path is block by foliage. Enough light bleeds through to let you know the path isn't completely sealed off so you move branches and leaves aside to find a small clearing.

And as you step forward you see to your left poison ivy and to your right...a cliff.

Followed up by a laughing Baroqua you get the message. The forest wants you to do as ordered, but at least the warning was gently. You make your way back to the earlier fork, that you were kindly given a shortcut for.

Lesson learned.
