Chapter 35 by clementchong clementchong

Left or Right?

Right

Eris decides to head towards the noise. It might not be the smartest move, but what if Brandon and Marcus were captured too? She'd never forgive herself if she left them here to die. Mustering her courage, she starts walking down the right tunnel. About 50 metres in, the noises turn into distinct sounds of feet stomping against the ground. Eris slows down her pace to a crawl and takes out her sword. She was not going to make the same mistake this time. Cautiously inching forward, she sees the tunnel curve to the right ahead.

Her hand firmly on the hilt of her sword, she peers around the corner. A singular goblin stands guard at the entrance of a cavernous hall. Everything thirty seconds he marches from one end to another, clearly the source of the noise. The hall itself is littered with scraps of bedding and furs. This appears to be their main living quarters. Aside from the guard, there looks to be no other goblins. Perhaps they are out hunting? The tunnel continues deeper at the opposite end of the hall.

Combat tutorial

Eris has come face to face with her first enemy.

Whenever there is a combat encounter, Eris will be given three options:

Attack: A combat focused narrative.

Seduce: A lewd focused narrative that increases her lust value.

Talk: A diplomacy focused narrative.

Sometimes, some of these options may result in a Bad End or will not be available if they are not viable/Eris is not at a level of skill needed to initiate it.

A/N: Due to the nature of the site, I cannot figure out how to gamify encounters so right now all combat paths will have a similar resolution. Only the method differs. If anyone knows how to gamify encounters e.g. make choices within the battle have impact without path bloating, do let me know.

How does Eris choose to deal with the guard?
