Richard stops the old man. [END]

"Get back!" Richard called out, pulling the old man behind him.

"My Luna..." the old man cried, desperately trying to push Richard aside.

"She's dangerous!" Richard warned.

"I don't care!" Abe whined.

"Get out of here!" Richard yelled at the mermaid. "Go on! Go!"

The commotion was drawing the attention of the other guests. They gathered to the side of the boat, trying to see what Richard was yelling at. Someone shone a phone light in the water and spotlighted the redheaded mermaid.

"Oh my god! What is that?!" called out a girl in astonishment.

"It's a mermaid!" replied another guest. "It's a mother fucking mermaid!"

"Get a picture!"

There was a general rumbling among the guests now as they pulled out their cell phones to capture the spectacle. Flashes were snapped. The mermaid covered her eyes from the bright lights, looking as though she were in physical pain. More people began to crowd the deck and make noise, causing the creature to retreat back into the sea.

"Nooo... Luna!" Abe cried, this time escaping Richard's hold. The old man plunged into the water, after his love.

"Abe!" Richard called out, grasping at air. The old man dropped into the water with a splash.

"Holy shit! Did you get that?" A guest asked his friend.

"Yeah, on video!"

"MAN OVERBOARD!" called out one of the deckhands. The ship's spotlight sprung to life, beaming over the nearby water like a blanket. There was a whole clamor now, as the crew shot into action, launching the rescue boat to find the missing man. Richard described the situation to one of the sailors. He looked incredulous at first, but then Richard got hold of one of the camera videos.

Videos of the mermaid circulated around the net and further fueled mystery buffs of their existence. Old Abe was never found. It put a damper on the rest of the trip for Richard. Aria tried her best to cheer him up, but he was too deep in a funk over his lost friend. He felt like he had let the old man down by keeping him from the sea creature. He hoped he found her in the end. The longer they didn't find a body, the more chance that he could have. He took solace in that thought.
