Revelation

Jenna was back at the library and working on the scripts Grundlestein kept apart for her. "Anything special you could help the queen with?" Grundlestein asked out of nowhere when Jenna was stuck with her head between a couple of pages of a book about dark entities. Jenna looked up just over the book at him, stared for a bit, then turned back to reading and said "Not really. It was more a status update.". Jenna didn't want to let any rumors slip out into the rest of the kingdom, not even giving it a chance via an old library clerk nobody really met. Jenna then said "If you got other important work to finish up, you can do that. I am perfectly fine here. Probably not much you can help me with either, as you not exactly know what we are looking for.".

Grundlestein wanted to reply with "Not if you don't tell me exactly what you are looking for." but then understood the not so subtle hints and instead said "Now that you mention it, I got some work piled up that could do well with my attention. I will leave you to this. Please, don't hesitate to call me if you need anything. Anything at all.". Jenna just replied with an "Ok.", but when Grundlestein nodded and walked away, Jenna said loud "Grundlestein." to which the man turned back around asking "Yes, miss Jenna?" and saw her having put the book down and looking at him. Then she smiled warmly at him and said "Thank you.". Grundlestein smiled back and nodded, then turned around and walked away, while Jenna returned to her book.

A few hours later Jenna was completely surrounded by piles of paper and books. You could hear from within the fortress of writings Jenna mumple "Nothing in here either. And that section didn't turn up anything useful too. Is there nothing remotely relevant to this Maigoth? Nothing?! Raaaahhhhh!!". Then she grabbed another book and started to work through its pages. "Really. While I am wasting time here, goddess knows what is happening to my fellow valkyrie. At least the attacks seems to be contained to the valkyrie. What if it will spread to the rest of Pudenda? Or even the queen?" Jenna murmurmed, her eyes darted over the pages without taking in any information.

"Hmmm, wait a sec. It's only attacking valkyrie. So most likely it seeks **** or at least has beef with us. What might have any reason to...or who? The last people we stopped were...wait, did we really stop them? Faye. Faye was having bad feelings about that one. What if we…? What if we didn't? What were they called again? Followers of...uhhhmm. No...way… How could we have overlooked THAT? The damn name of creature is in the cult's name. Have we become that complacent that we don't care about the details anymore?" Jenna thought. Then she quickly rummaged through the piles of books and scripts. "Followers....cult….darkness...what did they say about Maigoth? Feeding on darkness in humans? Dark desires? Lust? No wonder the valkyrie are falling that easy. We are trained as warriors. We are severely under trained as maiden." Jenna thought while she searched.

"What were those Followers doing again? Ah, yeah, chanting to their god. Uhmmm, hanging against the ceiling...a black egg? Something like that. Ok….gods...deities...egg...summonings...no, this is not it. Fertility...no, don't think that's it eith...wait a seconds. What is this? 'After the god has descended into the vessel, summoned by a 100 men chant, a willing soul, instilled with the right emotion, has to function as seed which will then merge with the vessel, known as….' the EGG! So it WAS an egg. 'The right emotion'. Well, I think there was a whole cult with the right emotion to fuck up some valkyrie, literally and figuratively, after what a pain in the ass we have been for them. So one of them most likely merged with the egg and is now on a vengeance spree against us." Jenna went through her thoughts while checking the texts.

"So, is there a way to put an end to this madness? Hmmmmm, what is this? Hmmm, ok. Ah, like that? Ow, that quite a thing. Uhuh. Well, it is doable, but...I guess one must, if the other alternative is being fucked into stardust. Ok, no time to relax. I gotta get this information to the others. If they are still around. I think the best place to go first is the arena." Jenna concluded, jumped up and ran down the corridor. When she turned into the main hallway, she bumped into Grundlestein. "Ah, Grundlestein, in a bit of a hurry. You mind awfully if I let the piles of papers and books in your capable hands? Life or **** situation and stuff." Jenna apologised. Grundlestein smiled and shoo-ed her away "Go! Go! I think you have better places to be than a dusty library with a dusty librarian. Go save the kingdom!". Jenna smiled, gave him a peck on the cheek and ran down the hall, making her way out of the library and towards the arena.
