The next video, too, was not of the islanders or filmed on the resort. It showed an above CCTV shot of an office boardroom with men and women in business attire seated at a boardroom table discussing something.

The video starts.

“Did you find that intern who sent that text message? I want him gone period. Jamie wasn’t supposed to go on a date with Elizabeth. He was supposed to choose!” An angry old man says, he sits at the end of the long conference table.

“We worked with the telecom company, and they say it must have been a glitch in the text message system or a UI problem.” Someone answered.

“I want you to sort it out, but right now, we have more important issues to discuss,” The old man says.

“The ratings are through the roof,” A male producer brings up the next agenda, you recognize it as the one that cast you. “People are hooked. We need to save this kid somehow.”

“Why the hell did we send a male islander in there the first week. We should have sent a girl first so he could at least last another week. Who came up with that brilliant plan?” The female producer says you recognize it also as the one who was present at your casting.

“Look, there was no way of knowing that he would appeal to the audience this much,” An older Warren Buffett type looking man said. “We just wanted him there for one week to get the social media guys buzzing, and they are. Mission accomplish.”

“Isn’t there some way we can help him?” The male producer says.

“All he ever does is stare at that god damn phone of his. What does he even do on it?” The older man says. “We made sure no time-wasting apps or games were on any of the phones, right?”

“We have no clue, whenever we film him on the phone, it just shows a blank screen,” The female producer says.

“I think it’s common among males his age just to look at the phone when they are nervous or don’t know what to do, even if it’s nothing at all,” A younger assistant producer says at the television studio meeting.

“God damn, we are trying our best to make him look good, and all he can do is stare at that god damn phone,” The older man says. “We need to do something quickly to get him in the game. You know what I’m saying?”

“According to our polls, the relationship people support the most is Jenna and Matt. In second place, it’s Matt and Paige,” The female producer says.

“Matt and Paige? As if that could ever work. Jenna’s all over Tom as well. Christ. We don’t got a lot to work with here,” The older guy replies and sighs.

“We could send Matt and Jenna on a date,” The female producer says.

“Jenna’s a lost cause. All her confessionals so far have been Tom this and Tom that. The girl is completely dazed by him. You are right. We have to send him on a date,” The older guy says. “Okay, do it. Just pick any girl that you think he remotely has a chance with. ”

The video ends there.

You raise your eyebrow at that. There was a lot to take in at once.

First and most important. The producers had no clue about the Affection Multiplier App. Whoever was behind the app wasn’t them. Was this the work of God? Some sort of karmic retribution? Either way, you do well to keep it hidden from them from now on.

Second. It appears your suspicions and moreover, the AMA's data about Jenna was right. She was utterly taken by Tom. How were you going to get between them and break out of the friendzone with her? You were willing to fall for any girl really, but Jenna was really the first person on this Island you felt something meaningful with.

Third. You were going on a date? With who?

Before you could even contemplate your next move and these revelations, a loud female shout boomed throughout the villa and interrupted you once again.

“I GOT A TEXT!”

The familiar female voice signaled who you were probably going out on a date with.
