Rin, of course, had no idea what she’d just done. She continued, her thoughts now drifting back to Saber. “And what about Morgan le Fay? I mean, I know she’s your sister, but there’s gotta be some tension there. She was always trying to get the throne, right?”

Saber’s expression darkened, a trace of sadness flickering in her gaze. “Yes… Morgan was consumed by jealousy, and we became bitter rivals. But beneath it all, I think there was still… something like love.”

Rin leaned forward, intrigued. “So, what, Morgan was jealous of you… and maybe something more?” she ventured, her voice tinged with curiosity.

Saber hesitated, her cheeks reddening slightly. “Perhaps,” she murmured, almost too quietly to hear. “Morgan wanted power, but I think she also sought a bond, one that went beyond our rivalry.”

Rin’s eyes widened, her mind racing with possibilities. “So, she’s… in love with you?”

Saber blinked, as if realizing something for the first time. “Yes,” she said, almost in wonder. “It seems… that may be the truth.”

Rin’s accidental “truths” kept piling up, and her curiosity only deepened. “And Mordred? Your… child. She must have inherited a lot of that intense devotion, right?”

Saber hesitated again, and for the first time, Rin saw a flicker of uncertainty. “Mordred did bear a fierce loyalty, though it was often buried beneath her anger and resentment.”

Rin chuckled. “Sounds like your life was filled with people who loved you but didn’t know how to handle it,” she said lightly. “It’s almost like they’d be devoted enough to follow you even now, if they could.”

In an instant, the truth of Rin’s words solidified in the air. Unbeknownst to her, somewhere deep within the Throne of Heroes, Morgan and Mordred felt a strange tug, a like a weight of regret and burden being lifted from their souls.

Saber, still oblivious to the changes, looked back at Rin with a soft smile. “Indeed. But with you as my Master, I feel a strange sense of freedom I have not felt in centuries.”

Rin’s heart skipped, a glimmer of excitement mingling with the intrigue of this newly formed partnership.
