Resume the Roommate

You carefully wrapped the towel back around her, and hit Play, resuming her. For now. Kayla blinked once, before asking again.

“What worked? Is something going on?” She asked, unaware with what you were holding.

As the realization set in, you couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and unease. The remote, once a laughable trinket, now held unimaginable power in your hands. You glanced at Kayla, who was oblivious to the brief pause in her reality, and wondered what other possibilities this device offered.

“Oh, nothing too serious.” You replied to Kayla, composing yourself.

"Good to know." Kayla said. "Anyways, I'm gonna go get some clothes on. This towel is kinda uncomfortable." She turned and walked towards her bedroom, completely oblivious to the fact that just moments before, time had stood still for her. You watched her leave, your mind racing with the endless possibilities the remote offered. You thought about all the times you'd wished you could control situations, make things go your way, and now, with this device, it seemed like that power was literally in the palm of your hand.
