Chapter 18

Mike can’t help but wonder what that was all about, however.

With the interview complete, Liam leads Mike back towards the room they started the day in. Mike notes that Liam even moves in an effeminate fashion, with a sway to his hips. If he’s honest with himself, he would be hard pressed to be certain of Liam’s gender if Alicia hadn’t told him.
The two of them enter the room, and Damon acknowledges them with a nod. As they take a seat, Mike noticed that Alicia is conspicuously absent. He doesn’t have time to wonder about it, however, as Damon begins to speak.
“So, we have gotten some results back on your scans and blood, and mostly it confirms what we expected. On a genetic level, you are very similar to the various intelligent races here.”
Mike nods. “Not terribly surprising, really. Similar planets, similar food, hell, mostly similar bodies.”
Damon looks at him and continues. “You are most similar to the Fanir race. “
He gestures towards Liam. “In fact you’re so close you could be considered an offshoot, barely even a separate race at all. If you were so inclined, you would even be able to produce offspring with a Fanir.”
He nods towards Kyrie. “Not so with the Dunori. They are just different enough to make it impossible, though relations of that kind are certainly possible.”
Kyrie grins. “Hear that, cutie? You don’t need to worry about knocking me up!”
Damon rolls his eyes. “I only mention it because you already engaged in intercourse with Alicia, and if what happened in the exam room is any indication, the same will happen with Kyrie as well.”
Mike chuckles, and Damon continues. “As for my own race, the Tyrii, we are genetically extremely diverse, owing to our origins as insectoids. While contact will not be harmful to either party, there’s no way of telling beyond that without a much larger sample size.”
Kyrie laughs. “He means that if you fuck a bug girl some time, be careful you don’t get her pregnant!”
Damon sighs. “Less elegantly stated, but essentially, yes. We won’t know if it’s possible until we test more.”
Liam interjects. “Speaking of testing, where did my fellow Fanir go? I would think she’d be interested in these results.”
Damon nods. “She was, and I shared them with her. She left to go set up for ‘this evening’s activities’, to use her words.”
Kyrie smiles. “She meant you, Mike. Hope you saved some energy!”
Liam laughs. “I think she might be hooked on you!”
Mike chuckles. “Well, I’m not going to complain. I like Alicia.”
Kyrie winks. “Just because you haven’t had me yet. Just you wait, stud!”
Damon clears his throat, and everyone quiets. “I guess that’s all for today. Tomorrow is a big day, so be ready. We will be announcing our findings, and sharing the interview. Expect to receive visitors soon, all of you. Have a good evening.”
With that, everyone gets up. As Mike leaves, Kyrie nudges him. “Well, don’t keep her waiting! And have fun…”
She walks away with a wink as Mike heads to Alicia’s door.
