Rest up.

You don't know what time it is anymore. All you know is that your legs feel like Jelly, and the lizards can't gallop for a minute longer. The group comes to a gradual halt, though there's no point of interest to signal a change of location. You're still in the same tunnel, with the same wooden buttresses, with a magic light guiding the way that increasingly troubles you. You have no idea how far this will go, and if it goes far enough, you could end up with no light at all, which would be an absolute nightmare. A couple of you might have some sort of better vision in darkness perhaps, though most of you surely don't, especially without even a hint of light from the stars.

The lizards curl up to sleep, and the rest of you rest as well. Turns need to be taken to watch, just in case, the others catch up, even if it's very unlikely. You all need to sleep, even if it's not an entire night's rest, or else you might not be able to properly face what's ahead, and the last thing you want to do is pass out from exhaustion deep underground.

"Save the magical charge of your tool, Mina," suddenly speaks Vivi. She brings her hand slowly in front of her gaze and whispers the words, "Vision of Night". Nothing seems different at first, but upon closer inspection, there's a faint green shimmer to her eyes now. "We shouldn't leave it on over our sleep, but we can't do a proper watch being unable to see. Allow me."

"I will watch with you," comes the voice from Mina's backpack. Finally, the elven banshee comes fully back out and stretches her arms. For a moment, she soars around this area of the tunnel--wispy tail slithering behind her like a snake. She smiles kindly as she comes to a gradual halt near the witch. "And then you may rest when you grow weary. I do not require sleep in such a way. While my spiritual energy does falter if I push myself, an actual night's sleep has not been something I require since my days alive."

Rose leans on the wall. "I admit, Kyle, your crew is even stranger to behold than mine, given the sample size."

Mela floats down beside the mouse and tilts her head. "You have many interesting things in your pack, Ms. Mina. There was another object, similar in shape and size to what you use for light. Is that another we can use in case--"

"No!" Mina blurts out. She holds the pack tight in her arms. "I mean, no. It's something else."

"What is it, may I ask?"

"It's nothing!" Her cheeks are glowing red now.

Lynx sits her butt down on the dirt and sighs. "I didn't think this mission would go this way at all. Skulking through an endless tunnel. We should have brought a dwarf for this. I prefer my city streets."

Vivi sits down beside her. "You've been Lynx and Falcon. Are you saying you've never been Mole?"

"Of course not! Lynxes and falcons are cool and sexy. When was a mole ever cool and sexy?"

"I think you could pull it off."

"What does that mean?"

Eventually, the tunnel goes quiet yet again. You all find some amount of sleep, albeit different lengths at different times, but what matters is that nobody ever sees the enemies approach. It's difficult to properly situate yourself for another morning yet again without a hint of sunshine, but you need to push forwards. No matter what, you need to get to the bottom of this tunnel's function. Even if you can potentially Bunny Hop everybody out, though you don't exactly know your limit of how many can come, this could be your best chance to find out what lies on the other side.
