Rest up (or try).

You toss and turn in your bed. While you were hoping for a quiet, comfortable sleep, your mind is restless. You think back on everything that's happened since you first came from Earth to this strange, fantastical world of Absoterra. It happened so quickly--so much so that you weren't able to bring anything but the foreign clothes you had to quickly replace. It was Breiah, a sister to Vivi, who grabbed you, and together with Elok Daven, your body was forever changed, and your life was never the same.

It feels like it was only yesterday when you first came across the Party’s Rest tavern, where Niki was loitering outside, waiting to trick somebody into buying her favourite snack from a place that banned her. It was her who truly kicked off your questing career, and without that, you’d have never met Eva and Amara at the Adventurer’s Guild. You fought giant crabs, were mugged by a couple of frisky bunnies, and met two famous elves who couldn’t be more different—Lady Nyllia Tesgella and Sir Elyndar Imaeris. You also met the witch who resided in the woods, Vivi, who really wanted to watch you get down and dirty with Niki.

A noble's ball. A battle with a kraken. A lich's dungeon filled with slimes and a magic sword. A group of harpies. Several succubi. Fairies, assassins, and golems.

The Golden Sword tournament was a wild adventure with Niki, where you met not only her family, but Lady Sulta. At the end of it all, the opponent was who now serves as your spymaster. It’s funny how things work out. But after all of that, you and Eva went back to her school of Redbloom Academy to face the wicked Davella, or rather, Velina Daliru. Then, Amara took you to Silverleaf, where you were able to retrieve one of the reagents for the PEG, a weapon to slay Demon King Sa’dis. Though that’s also when you met her mother Yaera, the mermaid Kailani, and the Witch of Decay.

It all came together, however, with the slaying of the Demon King, and the moment that would change the course of your life the most since you first came to this land--when you hit 10th level and you nearly lost your mind. Elok Daven's plans came into effect, and before you knew it, you were wanted and had to flee to what would eventually become Castle Phoenix. You still remember Dragonhide Manor, and when life was simpler. Things felt more like an ordinary isekai, with a goofy party of girls who were impossible to control, and a notice board of quests to take on. You can't help but at least somewhat miss that.

Yet you made yourself at home. Onward from there, you were introduced to the other Demon Kings nearby, such as Lady Vex, though you did see William Cresswell a few times before. You made new allies as well as enemies, from monsters to demigods to the crime syndicate Shadow Garden. Not only did you survive the exhausting, erotic challenge called the Trial of the Erotrain, made by an etherite named Aris, but after everything, Elok Daven himself hosted a Sports Festival that unsurprisingly turned upside down.

He revealed his new body and new power, which means he’s already succeeded in most of what he had planned. Now he lurks somewhere at the end of a great tunnel beneath most of Tivera. He, along with Breiah, not only have the magical technology to pull someone from another world, but can customize one’s own class to their own desires, and that’s on top of the complex and dangerous automatons they create. They also seem to command an unknown amount of insectrin, mostly ant-girls, which is how they dug the tunnel to begin with.

Uncertainty is what Elok Daven has on his side. You don't know what to expect from him next. However, you've met with the Circle of the Unicorn, and your allies are numerous and strong. Lady Vex is on your side, and while William is a mysterious man, he likely wants to see Elok's head on a pike as well. If this is all still true, you have quite the army, Demon King.

There are some out there who are a little more ambiguous to whom they'd help, such as Sir Elyndar Imaeris and The Edge. Feli and Lepo may have been generous in the past as a reward for your aid, though you're uncertain if they'd involve themselves in mortal affairs enough to help in your current quest. The Demon King Gwynevere is still out there as well along with her own allies, such as Anyana and Nelli, though between her pact with Seno'nojoch and how far away she resides, it's unknown if she'd truly care about your plight.

It's quite some time before your mind settles enough for you to drift off to sleep.
