Reminiscence
“Okay, so tell me. How was prom? Did you have fun?” Diana asked us. She sank low enough in the tub so that she could put her head on my shoulder.
“We did,” Noelle said. “I thought it would be a lot more awkward, but it wasn’t.”
“We got to dance with other friends, too,” Mila said. “It was good. Although…” She smiled wryly. “There was this one guy who kind of confessed to me. I turned him down, obviously, but it seems he expected it.”
“...” So that happened while they danced with friends? Didn’t notice.
“It was probably just for closure,” Grace said. “School is ending and most of us are going separate ways. I bet this guy didn’t want to leave any ‘what ifs’ behind.”
“Yeah, that’s what it felt like,” Mila said.
“And what was your boyfriend doing while you were getting confessed to?” Diana asked, glancing up at me.
“Cheating on us with Ben,” Sarah said, grinning.
“Chatting with Ben, Sarah. Not cheating,” I calmly corrected.
Alice put her hand on my chest and kept it there. She no doubt felt how my heart was beating faster than normal all of a sudden. She chuckled. “You didn’t notice Mila got confessed to and now you got jealous, huh? It’s funny that your face doesn’t show it.”
I sighed. “Not jealous, no. Just… I don’t know… Sad? I mean, obviously I didn’t want Mila to say yes, but it’s a little upsetting to think that other people left prom feeling bad.”
“Sometimes you empathize too much with others for your own good, love,” Grace told me. “You shouldn’t feel guilty about having a good time while others aren’t.”
Caught. “I guess, but it’s difficult not to put myself in those shoes. I mean, if things had been just a little different, I wouldn’t have gone to prom at all. I would’ve been the one at home feeling jealousy over everyone else having fun, over the fact that the girl I liked was there with a date that wasn’t me.”
Grace sighed, turned to Sarah and gestured at me with her hand. “See what I mean?”
“Yeah, but I also see his point,” Sarah admitted. “Not that I say this to brag or anything, but we’ve probably broken plenty of hearts this year alone. All of us, Oliver included. Hell, he’s probably broken more than we have. It’s weird when you think about it like that, right? Remember how you almost had a heart attack when you realized Mila liked Oliver from way before that one party? We almost fucked that up.”
“Oh yeah, that!” Mila laughed.
“Oh? What happened there?” Noelle asked.
“Ugh…” Grace groaned. “Basically, since we met Oliver at Thomas’s birthday party, we’d been having sex and fooling around without thinking too much about it. Then I noticed that Mila had liked him from way before and I felt like human trash for getting in the way. I mean, for fuck’s sake, I was fucking the guy she liked in front of her!”
“Had to tell them I didn’t mind,” Mila said. “Or more like I was enjoying it. Then the two of them got serious about him, too.”
Their story triggered a memory in the blink of an eye. “Wait! Is THAT what happened that one time in the old music room when the three of you suddenly ‘went to the restroom’ together?”
“Yep.”
“Yeah.”
“Yes.”
I groaned. “You left me so fucking confused that time. I kept thinking everything over trying to see if it’d said anything wrong.”
Alice sighed. “You girls are awful…”
“Yeah, it wasn’t exactly a smooth start…” Sarah said, rubbing the back of her neck. “Oliver was a nervous mess and we didn’t make it easy for him. We were doing things on a whim. We didn’t even know what we were doing.”
“...And meanwhile I was wondering what everything meant.” I rubbed the bridge of my nose. So many headaches in those early days…
“Well, it meant we liked you, of course,” Grace said. “I admit we weren’t doing it thinking we’d get serious about you. You just seemed so… harmless. We could fool around with you without fear. Then we ended up falling in love like movie princesses.”
“R-Rated movies, but yeah,” Sarah said.
Mila giggled. “Sarah kept fighting it, though. She didn’t want to admit she was in love even though it was super obvious.”
Alice, Noelle and Diana laughed at that.
“Yeah, yeah… Won’t deny it. But can you blame me? I thought I was going crazy. No way I could feel so strongly about this anxious mess of a man I’d known for two weeks.”
I turned to Diana. “I think she’s talking about me, but I’m not sure,” I told her.
“No, it can’t be you,” Diana said. “From the moment I first talked to you, you’ve been nothing but a ball of charisma. I never got to meet this ‘anxious mess of a man’ she’s talking about.”
Alice chuckled. “Yeah. If we hadn’t known Oliver from before, we wouldn’t have believed it, either.”
“You know he tricked me into going out with him?” Noelle said, grinning teasingly.
“It wasn’t a trick! I meant everything I said!” I argued, but Diana put a finger on my lips.
“Go on,” she said.
“He called me to the rooftop and I thought he was going to ask me out,” Noelle said. “I was a nervous mess myself because I really liked him but I knew he was seeing other girls AND I knew Alice liked him, too. I was sure I was going to reject him. But then he ended up telling me that he WASN’T going to ask me out and suddenly I was the one asking HIM out!” She laughed. “I thought, ‘oh crap! If I don’t do this now I’ll miss my chance to go out with him!’ It’s really funny to think about in retrospect.”
“I bet,” Diana said, smiling. “Can’t say I don’t relate. I felt similarly when Maria offered to set us up. And how did he seduce you, Alice?”
“I talked his ear off for hours, talking about practically nothing else but cars. When I noticed he was actually paying attention I knew he was The One for me.” She chuckled. “Our very first time was a threesome, too,” she said, looking at Noelle.
“We’d been three-way kissing in the student council room just before, right?” Noelle giggled.
“I…” I sighed in resignation. “I regret nothing.”
“Good, because we don’t, either.” Alice said. She rose from her seat and repositioned herself, now sitting comfortably on my lap with her back towards me. Her butt pressed against my cock, and it was by no means an accident.
Whether it was Alice’s touch or memories coming to me because all the reminiscence didn’t matter. My erection throbbed, and I felt myself heating up with renewed desire.
Author's Note: Sorry about the lack of updates last week. Was away on a place with no internet connection. I'm back home now and I'll also upload the chapters that should've been up last week little by little.
