Release and escape.

While Arerto dined with the commander of the prison Kriss was snooping around looking for Cheytelle and eventually found her locked in a cell. She headed back to the mess hall and walked past the off-duty guards and just simply nodded to Arerto in a subtle way that no one else saw. After a good meal and some wine Arerto and Kriss made their excuses and left the mess hall for the temporary quarters they had been given. They would wait until the prison had settled down and was sleeping. "General I could always allow you to escape after this mission," said Kriss. Arerto looked at her and then smiled "Where would I go? Secondly, you would bring scrutiny upon yourself. What sort of general would I be if I allowed one of my warriors to disobey an order? Even though given the circumstances that is a bit hypocritical. You will do your duty and obey your orders regardless is that clear?" Kriss looked at Arerto and just nodded as she sharpened her sword.

Soon the prison was quiet except for those guards who were on duty but dozing off to sleep snoring. Arerto and Kriss made their way down the deeper part of the prison. There were two guards on duty and unfortunately one was awake while the other sat near Cheytelle's cell and Arerto gambled that he would have the keys. Kriss positioned herself to take out the sleeping guard while Arerto pulled her dagger and took aim at the guard by the cell and let fly sending it through the air. The blade hit its target slicing into the man's throat who managed to let a long moan which woke the sleeping guard just in time for him to see a sward plunging down. Arerto had crossed the distance from her hiding place and swung her sword at the gasping guard and thrust at his heart killing him. She grabbed the keys from his belt and opened the cell going in and releasing Cheytelle from her bonds and lifting her from the dirty floor of the prison cell.

"Seems I owe you my life again Arerto!" said Cheytelle. Arerto looked at her and smiled and said they were even as she had got them into the prison. Now to get out of here so the three women headed back up towards the prison entrance. Kriss's unit had already neutralised the guard towers taking out the guards with crossbows. The trio found the rest of the unit and they headed up into the mountains above Hansmead and started their journey back to the pass. Arerto looked at Kriss and said, "It is time Kriss". Kriss stopped the group and signalled for two of her warriors to step forward. " General Arerto by royal order it is my duty to place you under arrest for disobeying a lawful royal order." Everyone was astonished but Arerto nodded and held out her wrist and said that Kriss must follow protocol. Kriss reluctantly signalled for Arerto's wrist to be bound while another warrior disarmed her. They moved off again into the darkness a lot more subdued heading back to the pass.
