Chapter 51 by The Other Guy The Other Guy

Rehearsing or baths?

Rehearsing

Considering your beauty treatment earlier today a bath would probably do more harm than good. "Lets get on with it then." You say with blustered exasperation.

"Great lets go to my room." Lucia's dragon disappears as she jumps up excited and leaves the dinning hall, you are much less enthused but follow nonetheless with your own dragon dispersed and your and Edin's schedules underarm.

Once outside the dinning hall Lucia conjures her dragon and has it flap around herself. You conjure your own and have it flap in front of her face. She watches it and had her dragon join. You slow your dragons flapping exaggerating it's muscle movements with each movement.

Given the different styles of your dragons the muscles don't line up perfectly, your dragon being thinner and it's wing connected along it's spine while hers is bulkier and its wings growing out from the point where it connects to its back. It is a more traditional dragon but yours would be capable of actual flight if it had been real.

Lucia looked focused and her dragon's body shifted. From a uniform bulk to a more defined muscle mass. As the wings flaps it's shoulder muscles move, not naturally but noticeably. She'd get better with time.

"So why are you trusting me in your room this time?" You ask, she does need to work on maintaining focus while distracted after all.

"Good point you can wait outside and conjure your dragon inside." She response as her dragon's muscles return to the uniform bulk.

"Haha." You mockingly vocalise. "What are you rehearsing anyway?"

"I'm singing and conjuring my dragon to dance with me. You'll be helping to make sure my dragon looks good." She says as her dragons definition returns.

You keep walking in silence giving Lucia as much of a demonstration as you can of muscle movements.

When you pass the baths you look at the middle class baths where Edin would be. You hesitate wondering if you could duck in and say you'd meet him in your room. You decide against going inside, It wouldn't be a quick trip and you didn't want Lucia to have to hang around outside for you.

You keep walking with her until you reach the lower class dorms and her door. She opens it and walks inside. You wait outside but make your dragon follow her. When she notices your lack of presence she turns to look at you. With a roll of her eyes she says, "Get in here Trouble."

"Thank you for your gracious permission my Lady." You theatrically bow and step inside.

"Thank you for accompanying me my Lord. So free ignoring the scandal of coming into a woman's bedroom. Why, people could think you were easy." She laughs as she speak unable to maintain the faux seriousness.

"Oh please, everyone knows I'm easy." You laugh but Lucia looks unsure.

"Just to be clear I only want to rehearse. You don't have to worry about me spreading any rumours or anything." Lucia sounded very serious and it hadn't even occurred to you that she would.

"Ok." You shrug. "So what are we rehearsing right now."

Lucia looked surprised you had blow past her comment. "Right, I need to make my big dragon as good as my little dragon." She grew her dragon to the size you remember seeing at the street performance.

Much like when you had scaled your old dragon up hers didn't look good. You moved closer to look at all it's parts and once you had a good idea listed off the minor issues. There were scales that, now larger, were clearly mulitcoloured, scales that didn't have each edge clearly defined and blended into others, it's legs were too long and toes too short.

Lucia corrected each issue as you listed them and once you were happy asked her to walk it in a small circle. As it moved more problems became apparent. The reason you shaped your dragon as you did is because lizards with scales can't walk like a mammal. As Lucia's walked scales grew larger and smaller with each movement.

You explained it to her and that if she wanted to keep her dragon like this she'll have to walk it a certain way. You scale up your dragon and show it walking curling it's whole body left and right with each step. Lucia said she wanted to keep this dragon because it was a part of her performance so you explained how it should move.

After more talking, demonstrations and corrections Lucia's dragon is walking around relatively realistically. You can keep going since you aren't using much magic but Lucia is starting to sweat from the exertions. She calls for a halt to cool down.

"So seriously who taught you all this? Like who explained the walking stuff?" She asked laying on her bed.

You were leaning against a wall waiting for her to resume. "Mostly figured it out for myself." You answer, you figure mentioning you weren't exactly working with a child's mind because you had been reincarnating and were mentally twenty at the time you learned all this might be a bit too much to believe.

"And you think you're average?"

"My dad paid for teachers, tutors and instructors. No matter how much I tried I just couldn't push past average." You answered. "Except when it comes to aura and imbuing, I suck at both of those."

"How?" Lucia asked leaning up on her bed to look at you.

"Can't control my aura at all." You leave at that feeling your shame quietly raising. "And anything I try to imbue either, blows up, melts or catches on fire."

"Right." Lucia stretched out the word. "If you say so." She sat back up. "Back to it."

You resumed you visual inspections, the break had undone some progress and you had to go over a few things again. Once done you have her take her dragon into the air and do the same process with it's flapping.

When she tired again she lay back down. "Think that's all for today." Lucia breathed out as she recovered.

"Glad I could help." You answer happy you could help her perfect her dragon. Just a matter of time before she has a good image of her dragon and won't need to focus on the little things.

"Thanks Christopher." She says with a wave. "Don't steal anything on the way out."

"Oh then I should put this back."

Lucia laughs at you and leave her to recover making sure you remember to grab the class schedules when leaving a woman's room this time.

Once her door closes you yawn and make your way back to your room. You don't encounter anyone all the way to the third story when you stop and look at Vatarie's door. It was closed and you consider if you should knock.
