Regular v Token (Well Insulated, Big Ears)

Kody looked at his wolf, the animal merely stared back. He knew the howl was a warning, but then again was it something he should risk? For his father it was simply a rut. "Uhh." Kody looked back at the normal pile. It was risky to try a new deck, an unfamiliar deck. Kody reached out and got the normal card, his wolf running two spots.

Kody looked at his card before touching his silver medallion. With luck he could get through this card reading without running out. He flipped it over, "Well Insulated; Hope you don't mind bushes cause your about to get a forest." Kody set the card down, his body becoming itchy, especially his groin.

With a short growl he pulled down his pants and underwear to see what was happening, what he didn't expect to find was hair. What was once a hairless place was now furry. Caiden leaned over to see what had caught his brothers attention. "Oh, I can get behind that." Kody's head snapped up to his brother before growling out.

"Well I cant, I wanted this as a teenager not as a twenty three year old." He had always wanted to have chest hair, but when he hit seventeen he gave up wishing. For the game to bring back an old wish after he had already come to terms with his body was like a cruel joke. Kody pulled up his pants and glared at the normal deck. "Fuck it." His hand reached out and gripped the red card tightly. The silhouette of the wolf bowing seemed sinister with the background. David and Greg watched the wolf run a distance ahead, counting out to be fourteen spaces.

Kody flipped the card over his hands now clammy as the realization of what he did set in. He just grabbed a permanent card because he was mad with a totally normal and reversable card. A card he wished he could have had when he was younger. Kody took in a breath before reading, "Cursed- Big Ears; Grandpa what big ears you have..." Kody felt the pain before he could finish reading the card.

He slammed it down, biting down on his own teeth in an attempt to mask the pain he felt on the top of his head. It felt like a needle and thread, attaching something to his skull. The family watched with big eyes as two wolf like ears grew on the top of his head, the fur on them looking like his hair. Kody let out a loud groan that mixed with a growl as the pain spiked, then it faded.

The table was silent as the group watched Kody's wolf ears twitch slightly. A quiet word was muttered, "Shit." Kody quickly turned to Greg, the ears pointed upright and alert. The older man leaned back a little as he watched his kid. The new wolf ears seemed foreign, especially on the fit body of his son.

"Dad, please tell me it isn't what I think it is." Kody slowly reached a hand up, hesitantly feeling his hair. Greg stayed silent, and Kody just became more stressed when he didn't find the ears immediately. "David?" Kody turned to focus on his uncle, who was now looking away.

Caiden was the first to speak directly to Kody. "They look cute." Kody spun to face his brother, a red face of embarrassment from his brothers words. Even the ears seemed embarrassed, laying flat on his head. "They seem to correspond with your emotions." Kody frowned at his brother. He really didn't want this for the rest of his life.

"Welp, I'm not taking from that pile again." Kody hoped that would stay true.
