Refuse

You gaze harshly at Norman's ferret like face. "Knowing you, this deal you wish me to make involves me drinking one of your infamous transformation potions. No thank you. You'll have to find another test subject who's willing to be turned into whatever you have in mind."

If Norman's jaw could actually drop, it might have dropped to his feet. He looks at you, hurt and stunned as he points a finger at you. He tries to answer your comments, but no words seem to escape his thin lips.

"By your lack of response, and from the surprised look on your face I'd say I'm right" you say to him. "You are as predictable as you are detestable."

"All right, I'm sorry" he grovels. "Can you blame me for trying? You're very beautiful, and I've always imagined you'd make a beautiful Alsatian."

You have to laugh at him. Then you decided to put him on the spot. "Why can't you just love me for me, if I am very beautiful as you say I am? For crying out loud, Norman, just love me as I am!"

Norman is flustered by this. "I never thought you'd let me! Will you?"

"No" you answer in a flat tone of voice. "But I might if you ask properly, and treat me properly, and if you really can get me in to see the Lord. After all, one good turn deserves another."

"Yes, I really can get you in to see the Lord." He suddenly falls on both knees before you. "Tell me, what must I do to win your favor?"
