Redhook’s proposal

“What do ye aim to get outta this.” You inquire grimly to Redhook. There is a low metallic grinding as he drags his hook along the bars to the cell.

“Well you see. What’s more important to me than anything is choices. Through choices we avoid the ultimate evil. What is that you may ask?”

“I didn’t.”

“Well I’m glad you asked, that evil is INdecision. Through decisions we empower ourselves ya see?”

“Where the HELL is this goin’?” You say rattling your chains in frustration.

“Where I’m going with this is; I’m gonna give you a choice.”

“A choice?”

“Yes we’re going to play a whimsical little game of choice. Since you made a choice to fight me on behalf of your allies, you get to make one more.”

I don’t like where this is goin’ but I cannae’ exactly see a way out of it.

“…”

“I’m glad you’re excited, I am too.” Redhook smiles with a twisted kindness and gently pats the bars. With his hook he gestures to Syvella, to Frost and then back to yourself. “Pick one. And choose wisely.”

Oh shiiit. There’s no way this ends well. But is being picked good or bad in this case? By picking someone I risk condemning them to a fate worse than death. Then again, maybe the picked person gets to walk free? Perhaps it’s best I simply don’t play his game and choose nobody?
