Chapter 1440 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Recover.

That was... a lot.

From traversing Elok Daven's country-length subterranean highway alone, to organizing, initiating, and then completing a multi-front war, it has certainly been the most eventful couple weeks of your entire life. The shadow that had been looming over your head since your first arrival in Absoterra, whether you realized it at the time or not, has been eliminated at last. While Breiah may have left along with Serafina, all the rest of your opponents have been captured or destroyed, and the ALICEs have dispersed into the world to find their own way--Allie as a guide, to whomever accepts her aid. People were hurt, but no lives were lost, though you aren't certain the level of destruction felt in Avana. For now, you have yourself to worry about, as well as your allies.

Malakae and Queen Catherine II aren't currently present, as they're still in the capital city, and Nyllia's party continues to aid the people, but every other person is currently present within the damaged walls of Castle Phoenix. It will take time to manage repairs, but for now, those in need are bandaged up, while Amara soon finds herself on her knees from dishing out far too many heals, even to those who likely didn't need it.

You want to help, but Yin insists you take just an hour or two at least to rest your body and mind before rejoining the crowd. The last thing you want to do is abandon the army that followed you, though even others nearby push you towards your chambers. You finally cave, and decide to take a small nap.

As you lay there upon your massive bed, and stare towards the ceiling, you don't have long to think before the exhaustion consumes you. Still, for that brief moment, you think about all those outside, from your main party, to those who live here, to everyone else who has chosen to come to your aid, or at the very least, the aid of Tivera or Absoterra itself. You've been called Demon King so long now that, while you do still lead an army like one, you don't feel all that demonic. You never really did, though of course, the title does sound pretty cool. Even Lady Vex doesn't seem evil. You wonder how you'll be perceived going forwards, but after that, the world fades away into a blanket of clouds.

Your Invisible Ties flows through you as if your body is being embraced by all those outside. You know they'll be all right, and you also know they're awaiting your return.

What do you do?
