Reconsidering
And truth be told, Yusuuf was reconsidering things. Not his choice of Elizabeth. That was the probably the best choice he had made in his life. But he could see the suffering of his fellow African men, his fellow Muslims, and it made his heart ache. And he could see the shallowness of the white women in the neighborhood he lived in. How their lives were shallow and empty and meaningless, even with all the comforts and privilege that money could by. How to fulfill those women, how to give them purpose, and how to give some comfort and pride to his fellow compatriots?
The answer, that he came to time and again, was his wife. He would make her Western again, in appearance only ... to lure the other wives to follow the same path he did. But he had to pitch this very carefully.
