Rebecca Throws a Beach Party

Rebecca throwing a beach party was nothing new; she had thrown one every year whenever the beaches opened back up. What was new was that you had received an invitation. Typically, Rebecca only invited her friends, both in school and the ones that were friends of family and around her age, but this year, she invited her entire grade to her private beach. Her father owned a resort that he'd let Rebecca borrow on occasion for events; the resort building, the 111289 hectares of beach behind it, the golf course, casino, and nightclub were all under Rebecca's limited control. There was more than enough room for your entire grade, but it was rather strange that she decided to pull a move like this randomly. Or perhaps it wasn't random; this might've been a strategic move on Rebecca's half, a last ditch attempt to get all attention on herself with the senior school year coming to an end.

Well, if that were the case, it wouldn't affect you in the slightest. All your other friends were going, so you were as well. You currently find yourself standing waist-deep in the cold ocean water with your back facing the shore, which was rather refreshing given how hot things have been the past few days, today included among them. The swim trunks you were wearing were rather plain, being this red colour with no other detailing to them. You had set up a small spot for yourself a good ways away from the shore, your flipflops and towel resting next to a bag containing your phone, change of clothes, wallet, and sunscreen.

You felt cold water suddenly splash against your back; the splash was not accidental; you could tell that it was created by a person and that it had been done on purpose. Knowingly, you turned around to face the suspect with a smirk on your face; it was none other than Chris. She was wearing the swimsuit she typically wore, an orange bikini that had a green leafy sarong tied around her waist. It reminded you a bit of a tangerine. Your best friend wasn't the only one present; your entire friend group, or at least the female members of it, were present. Amy, in her purple bikini with neon-green outlines, was standing next to Lex, who was wearing a pink one-piece swimsuit. The swimsuit had a strap going across her left shoulder but lacked one going across her right; there was a collar that covered her neck; and in the center of the suit was an oblique material that was shaped into an acute triangle, leaving her abdomen partially exposed. Lex was also wearing a black sleeve that started at her wrist and went up to her elbow on her right arm. The sleeve contained a plastic pocket on it that contained her phone. On top of her head was a small, water-proof camera that was strapped to her head and was currently recording. The footage was mostly likely being sent to her phone, allowing Alexandra to view what the camera was recording without needing to remove the camera, something that she most likely asked Tammy to help set up.

"Why are you standing here by yourself? You trying to look cool for an imaginary camera, Lone Wolf?" Amy teased waddling through the water past Chris to rest an arm on your shoulder.

"Imaginary? The camera is right there." You gestured over to Lex, who beamed at the attention you gave her. You do wonder, why does she have a camera on right now? Maybe she wanted to save the moments of fun that your friend group had today, though having a camera on her head seemed a bit excessive.

"Yeah, well from where Lex is facing, you're not even at a good angle." Amy countered. Shit, she made a good point, but not to worry, you had the perfect rebuttal for it.

"Nuh uh!" You smiled smugly at the Fun Lover knowing full well that Amy couldn't do anything to win this exchange after you had brought out your trump card.

Amy removed her arm from your shoulder and raised her opposite arm up out of the water that had been covering it, revealing to you that she was holding a water gun in it, finger right on the trigger. "Yuh huh!" Amy retorted.

Your smile dropped. "Where the hell did you get a-" You didn't get a chance to finish your sentence before Amy clasped a hand on the gun's pump shaft and pulled it back several times in conjunction with a series of trigger pulls, causing you to be splashed in the face by several streams of water that had been squirted out of the water gun. Now, you would've been fine with regular water splashing onto your face, but upon feeling the water droplets make contact with your eyes, you knew there was something wrong. "It's salt water!" You yelped as you rubbed your eyes, which were now shut due to the stinging sensation caused by the salt.

Even with your eyes closed, you could still tell you were getting funny looks from all three girls. "Uh yeah, we're at the beach. What other water would we use?" Chris commented with a slight snicker present in her voice.

Well, that's obvious; you weren't surprised by the use of salt water, but more that you were pissed at the pain it was causing. "Then don't aim for the face!" You whined.

"Okay!" You heard all three girls reply after a short pause. You then heard the sound of multiple guns being pumped before feeling water hit your bare chest, shoulders, and arms. You popped a single irritated eye open and were greeted by the sight of all of your friends holding water guns.

They were ganging up on you. "No fair, give me one." You complained and held your hand out, expecting one of them to place one of their toys in your hand, but all three just stared at you like you had three heads.

"Sorry, should've brought your own." Amy winked at you.

Did you forget to check your messages or something? Because you didn't get a memo or anything about this. "How was I supposed to know?" You asked, to which you only got the response of a few giggles as you were sprayed more. You let out a groan and lunged forward, attempting to swipe the gun out of Amy's hand, but the fun lover quickly stepped back. All three girls then started to move away, firing at you as they did. Having no other choice, you chased after them; it was a rather one-sided game of tag, but nonetheless, it should be fun; you were with your friends after all.
