Reading her mind

Goku was laying in the blankets rolled out for him by Bulma with his eyes closed, but he was not sleeping. Instead, he was listening to Bulma's breathing. When she started taking deep, slow breaths that indicated a deep sleep, Goku's eyes slowly opened. He got up silently and brought a chair over to Bulma's bed, he was going to be here for a while. He'd been planning on doing this for a while, but unfortunately Goku wasn't as adept at using telepathy as his Master. Roshi could read minds with a short distance of himself, but Goku had to make physical contact to do the same, and there was no way Bulma would've allowed this otherwise.

Goku rubbed his hands together, warming them up so that they wouldn't shock Bulma awake. He then softly touched her forehead with his hand and read her mind. He then saw her adventure up until this point, including the bits she hadn't told him. Goku saw it all: her skirt being torn off in the cave, trying to tempt Gohan by flashing her panties (that might've worked with Roshi, Goku thought), and being caught with her pants down by a flying dinosaur. Goku removed his hand, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. He thought he had the measure of this girl now. For starters, she wanted the Dragon Balls so bad that it hurt, and she really would be willing to do just about anything to get them, even if that meant using her body. That was because for her, the ends justified the means, and the end was her true wish: the perfect boyfriend.

So, she's willing to put it all on the line because what's waiting for her at the end is her perfect Mr. Right, Goku summarized in his head. While he was in there, he also took a look at what Bulma considered to be perfect boyfriend material. Goku scowled, of course her Mr. Right would be a Nice Guy. More like Nice Doormat. Goku knew how that relationship would end: she'd get bored of him and start sleeping behind his back because he couldn't give her the thrills she wanted anymore. What a waste of a wish. Goku supposed that Shenron wouldn't give in to all of Bulma's demands, but there were no guarantees.

Someone should show her what a real man is like, Goku thought, before she makes the biggest mistake of her life.
