Rat Slayer

I start looking around and see a rat digging through a pile of junk. I activate Stealth and rush to the shadows behind a pile of junk. I use Observe on the 3 feet long rat I see.

What the... its weak. The Pixies had more health and mana that it does. Is it strong? Maybe that's why its weak. Suddenly it hits me. Rats are carriers of diseases, it must be poisonous. I slowly approach the rat and raise my katana to strike. I get behind it and swing down.

It starts squealing in pain and I swing my katana at it again.

I see some furs drop and quickly add them to my inventory without Observing them. I hear some more squealing and see two rats rushing me. I use Multicasting to cast a Flare at the first rat and my katana.

After seeing the damage numbers I use Multicasting to cast Flare two more times.

I dodge the second rats lunge and bring my flaming katana down on the back of its neck.

I quickly stash the furs and bones in my inventory before dashing into the shadows. I start running around, barely managing to stop myself from getting overconfident by remembering my theory about them being poisonous. As I'm running from shadow to shadow I find and kill four more rats getting, +300 Exp, +173$ and getting lucky with two more rare drops adding the bones and fur to my inventory. I'm stopped in my tracks by a terrifying screech. I turn to look and see two giant rats surrounded by seven of the normal ones about 100 feet away. I use Observe on the giant rats.

Well shit. That's going to be a problem. Okay, lets take out the little ones before focusing the big ones. However that alpha one worries me. It says its Class is Protector, so does it protect the pack? Or will it only protect its mate? My thoughts are interrupted by another terrifying screech. I turn to look and the Alpha Junk Rat is screeching and standing on its hind legs. Its spinning around slowly in a circle occasionally softly punching its chest. I'm assuming its trying to draw me out by taunting me. and watching it gives me an idea. I look at the seven junk rats and, using Multicast I start firing Flare at them again and again. By the time the first two Flares reached them I had already sent two more. By the time the Junk Rats started charging me I had killed two of them gaining +150 Exp, and +83$. I keep casting Flare using Multicast to slowly dwindle away at they're health. Each needs three Flares to take out. Thanks to the distance between us I kill two more before they reach me getting +150 Exp, and +81$. Thankfully the Alpha Junk Rat is staying close to its mate. Unfortunately its mate is using magic to boost the Junk Rats. I grip my Katana finishing my Multicast of Flare to kill another rat and start my own charge. I reach the two rats and start dodging them and swinging my katana when I can, my body instinctually knowing the moves. After I finish the two off without taking any damage I get +225 Exp, and +125$. I suddenly feel something slam into my side.

I quickly cast Counter Strike before turning to see the Alpha Junk Rat standing there. Its muscular arms are holding a spear. Wait arms and a spear. I didn't see that earlier. I jump back and put some distance between us. I barely managed to see a blackish purple bolt flying at me in time to dodge. I see the Female Junk Rat to my right getting ready to cast another one. I decide to run for the Female Junk Rat and hear her angry mate. Fortunately with my light armor bonus I'm faster than the Alpha and reach the Female after dodging two more bolts. I grip my flaming katana in both hands at my side and aim for her neck.

I quickly try to hit her again when something slams into me sending me forward about 10 feet.

I quickly get up and turn around only to see the Alpha standing over the Female with his arms around her. I look down and see the spear sticking out of my side.
