Raincheck

"Can we raincheck that?" Ethan sighs, "I've got errands to run back in town..."

"Oh." Alex blinks, "Yeah, totally..." She sounds slightly disappointed, but not outright upset. "Hey, um, if you don't have any plans tomorrow, you can totally hang out with me and my friends."

Ethan raises his eyebrow.

Shrugging, Alex continues. "I promise they don't bite, and hey," she lifts the bag in her arms slightly, "I'll bring the booze!"

Chuckling, Ethan can't even begin to hide his amusement. "I'll think about it."

Alex smiles, happy with the answer. "Alright, well see you tomorrow then."

"I said I'll think about it!"

"And I'm sure you'll make the right choice." Alex makes her way to her front door, "See ya."

"See ya." Ethan watches Alex disappear into her house, along with the bag of booze.

Sighing, Ethan turns towards the road, thinking about Alex's offer. While hanging out with a bunch of drunk teenagers hasn't been his definition of fun in years, the idea wasn't entirely offensive to him. He would have to think about it though, as she was sure he was due to be double booked at this rate.

The fair was shaping up to be quite the eventful night.

He thought about that, and more specifically Alex, the whole walk back to town.
