Chapter 5
by Storm Chyld
Should she use the beacon, or the radio?
Radio for help.
Activating the communications system on the ship, she flipped through, trying to find a broadband frequency, that people would likely hear. Having studied radios as part of her degree, she was able to locate the most likely choice.
“May day, may day, survivor of the alien crash needs assistance, does anyone copy?” She called out over the radio waves.
No one responded, which was disconcerting but not surprising. Lexi kept trying every few minutes, for the next half hour, until she looked up in surprise, hearing something outside. Dashing to the door of the shuttle, she looked out toward the city, and saw a strange drop ship heading her way. It didn't really resemble the alien craft that she had seen, but then again it didn't look like anything terrestrial either. The ship shifted its VTOL engines vertically and landed about a quarter mile away from her shuttle. The side of the shuttle lifted up, revealing six soldiers, dressed in heavy black armor, and helmets hiding their faces. They looked human, but they didn't look like any faction of earth she could think of.
Lexi glanced around, and tried to decide if she should hide and watch, or go out and greet them.
Should Lexi hide, or openly greet them?
