Chapter 4 by Storm Chyld Storm Chyld

How does Lexi enter the alien vessel?

Override the panel.

'Cheerleader? Check. Worlds strongest woman? Nope. Electrical Engineer? Yes.' Lexi chuckled to herself as she jerked the panel open to look inside.

She was dismayed to see a very alien wiring panel. Gently probing with her lithe fingers, she began just getting a feel for where everything was. Suddenly metallic tendrils flowed gently from the back of her hand, and began connecting to the alien device. Lexi's vision shut down, and was replaced by a visual representation of the wiring she was touching through the tendrils.

As her mind began to reformulate what she was feeling, into what she was looking at, she began to see the solution. The tendrils emitted small amounts of electrical currents into various places, then jerked a wire loose. Suddenly the door opened and the tendrils disengaged.

Glancing at her hand, she watched the metallic tendrils slipped back beneath her skin, completely seamless. She had to concentrate on controlling her breath after the freaky incident. Blowing out a sigh of confusion and wonder, she finally slipped into the shuttle craft and looked around.

From what she could tell the ship was abandoned, with the exception of the pilot, who was nothing but a small, weird looking skeleton sitting in its chair. All of the flesh was gone, and the smell of decay was gone. It was interesting that aliens decayed so rapidly. Shoving the skeleton out of the chair, she began looking over the console, and was dismayed that the ship was never going to get back off the ground. Not that she knew how to fly it.

That gave her a thought. Placing her hands on the console she began to concentrate. Suddenly tendrils from both hands, and some from each wrist attached to the console, and began probing the seemingly dead console. She found electrical currents still running through it, though the power was faint. She wasn't sure how to power it up, or if it even could be, but she found that it had both a distress signal and a transmitter. She could try to radio for help, or activate the beacon. Hopefully soldiers would find her before aliens did.

Should she use the beacon, or the radio?
