The Omega Project

Uprise

Chapter 1 by Storm Chyld Storm Chyld

Humans once believed they were alone in the universe. They were wrong.

Despite a long standing history of conspiracies and so called evidence of UFOs and extraterrestrial life, most of this was either a hoax, or a legitimate confusion over something much more tangible. Despite this fact there was no denying alien life, when the first wave struck.

Early 2015; low flying UFOs managed to evade radar detection and drop large metallic canisters in urban settings. These devices were the first attack from the aliens, and used a strange green gas to incapacitate humans who came near them. Drones and aliens would then come to collect the cocooned individuals.

The first response to these attacks came through police, and soldiers moving to the scene to assess the danger. Facing the very real threat of aliens, armed with advanced technology, first contact was a blood bath, where most did not survive. As the aliens became more aggressive, soldiers were deployed in organized responses to each attack. Each country struggled to face the invader in their homelands. Because the attacks were simultaneous, no country was capable of helping another, as they were to busy protecting their own people.

Within a month a mysterious organization backed by the world's governments arose to power, known simply as Omega. The Omega Project consisted of the best and brightest scientists, engineer, analysts and soldiers the world had to offer. Through their conjoined effort, they began to win fight after fight against the alien invasion. But not without many lives continuing to be lost, during the multitude of missions they were running.

Three months into the war, the aliens changed tactics, and sent a fleet of nine warships into earths atmosphere. Each ship had a different destination, forcing each country to focus on the warship closest to their sovereign territory. Deploying bombardment tactics, each of these battleships deployed new and sinister aliens, in an attempt to subdue the populace. Of the nine warships, three were successfully taken out of the air, but not without great cost to both the world's military, the Omega Project, but also innocent civilians. The other six chose to depart, having accomplished whatever their sadistic goal was.

Infuriated by the alien's aggression the Omega Project stepped up its , and countermeasures against the invading forces. Led by a fierce but mysterious figure known only as 'The Commander'. They began to take out small alien craft, board them and eliminate alien threats, before taking whatever salvage they could find. While Omega was stepping up the fight, the world was loosing. With a huge blow to its morale, political figures began looking for a way out of a situation they didn't think they could win.

Six months after the war, at the beginning of the year 2016 the world called for a cease fire. At first it appeared as if a unanimous world surrender was in progress. However they brought forth an alien diplomat and explained that this war had all been a big misunderstanding. Humans had attacked the first envoy of the Elders, killing an important diplomat, and angering the aliens. This had led to a war, in which the aliens had tried a subduing method with their advanced technology. Humans proved too war like to be brought to heel through these methods. Thus an all out war ensued. Had the battleships wanted to continue destroying the world, they could have, but they had been pulled back, in the hopes that humans would see their inherent desire for mercy and peace. Finally the world had a reason to put down their weapons, and submit. No more , no more fear, peace through collaboration with the Elders. That day became known as Unification day.

While the government put down their arms, and began to work with the aliens, Omega went rogue, and tried to get off the grid. Seen by both sides as a holdover from a time no longer needed, they were summarily put down, and the last vestiges of resistance was stamped out. Or so it seemed. Twenty years has passed, and the world governments have dissipated, replaced by a coalition known as the WP, World Peacekeepers. Having spent the first decade working with the Elders, they found a way to bring peace and prosperity through control to the world. Though the Elders left, they left behind some of their alien disciples to help the Peacekeepers maintain stability on earth. Additionally the two worked hard to bring gifts from their alien masters to the world. Including new leaps in medical and scientific knowledge.

Sergeant Vincent Roberts

Vincent was a tall black man with a large muscular frame, and rugged good looks. His hair was shaved close to the scalp, and he had a five o'clock shadow on his face. Vince was a thirty five year old veteran navy seal, who served his country with distinction. He had been recalled to an east coast base, along with his team near the beginning of 2015 for no apparent reason.

When the first wave dropped their subduing canisters into a nearby city, his platoon was air dropped into the zone, to assess the threat. Half his platoon was lost that day, but despite this they drove the aliens off. It wasn't until his third engagement when his entire squad and the remnants of his platoon were wiped out.

Alexis Stern

Alexis was a short blond woman, with long silky hair, and large firm breasts. A cheerleader in high school, and a kendo champion in college, her true love was technology. In her mid-twenties, she was working on her masters in engineering on the west coast of the united states, when she was flagged by Omega as a possible recruit during the first wave.

When the second wave deployed the battleships, soldiers and emergency personal were deployed to evacuate the city, while ground and air forces tried to prevent the ship from reaching it. During the huge clash in the skies over what was Washington state, the ship was off course, and crashed south of the city. Unfortunately many of the convoys fleeing the city to the south were hit by the ship, and almost all personnel and civilians were lost. Miss Stern is presumed to have been killed in the battleship's crash.

Lieutenant Milena Batista

Milena was a beautiful woman, with dusky skin, long silky black hair, a toned athletic body, and large round breasts. Lieutenant Batista was a thirty three year old, member of the Italian Special Forces known as the Ninth. A sniper by trade, Batista participated in the first encounters with the aliens, and lost a lot of comrades and friends during the first month of fighting. Angry that so many of her friends had been killed she vowed to kill ten aliens for each comrade that fell.

When Omega approached her, she jumped at the chance to take the fight to the aliens, and keep her promise to her fallen brethren. Batista quickly climbed the ranks in the Omega command chain, as she survived and successfully completed countless missions during her tenure,

When the second wave hit, the majority of Omega had been concentrating their work in Europe. One of the nine battleships was headed for Paris France, and the Commander deployed her Platoon and three others to help Europe face down the threat. La Mort Finale; the name given to the battleship deployed over France, was one of three to fall from the skies. Though many died during the fight, Batista again proved her mettle as she led her team into the streets of Paris, to deal with the drop ships that had been deployed into the city.

When the Commander, outraged by the alien aggression, began the Hunter Killer initiative targeting north America, Batista volunteered her platoon to lead the charge. Her team stood on standby waiting for interceptors to take down alien craft, and then would be dropped near the crash site, and raid the ships. They left no survivors behind.

During the fifth mission, they were boarding one of the larger alien crafts, when the team was massacred. According to radio chatter, a new kind of alien had been on the ship and had ripped through the platoon, leaving no survivors. However a fire fight in the engine room took out a majority of the ship and made both the recovery of the soldiers and aliens that had attacked them nearly impossible. Milena's body along with half her crew were never found.

Doctor Raiden Nakahara

Raiden was a short Japanese man, in his early forties, with short black hair, and a toned body. Nakahara had come to the united states as a young man to study science. His father had been a shotakan master, and a savvy business man. He had taught his son since childhood both discipline, and fighting. Unfortunately while Raiden respected his father, and was glad for all that he had been taught by him, he wanted to study science more then anything else. Finally his father had agreed, and allowed him to go to the united states to find his own way. He would major in science, and minor in business, so that if he should change his mind, he might still one day inherent his father's legacy.

That legacy was destroyed however when the aliens invaded the earth, and his parents were killed during the second wave. Years after the Accord and Unification day, the WP created the Scientific Expansion Initiative, which would allow human scientists to learn some of the secrets of the Elders. Given a chance to further his desire to learn science, and understand the world around him, Doctor Nakahara, who had finished his doctoral in science a year before joined the program. From then on he got to work in new and fascinating projects.

Doctor Nakahara was killed in a lab explosion, when a volatile substance they had been working with interacted in an unpredictable manner and detonated, killing the majority of the staff working on the project, including the doctor.

Which of the fallen will rise first?
