Rachel's sleepless night

RACHEL'S POV

Our first night in this new dimension was spent in a crappy backwater motel, which John was able to get us for free after some... "persuasion". Since it was right off the highway, the motel seemed was a popular rest stop for truckers and roadtrippers.

I used to think that John was just about perfect. Sure, he hasn't shown any indication that the feelings are reciprocated, but he lost the first love of his life. But everything changed that night in the motel. That night I learned something about John that would forever sour his image in my mind.

John snores like a freight train.

Afrer an hour of suffering through that tortuous racket I snuck outside to get some air and take a walk.

I wasn't cold despite only wearing my skimpy blue swimsuit. John didn't let me go anywhere without him. I tried sneaking out of our house back on our Earth but I couldn't get around the security system.

This was the first time experiencing the world by myself. I'm not going to waste it. Unfortunately the motel is in the middle of no where. The only places nearby are a gentleman's club, whatever that is, a convenience store and a secluded picnic area.
