Quite a bit

Marcus took a sip of tea before answering "let me start by asking how much you know about this region?" "literally nothing except it's hilly and forested." Marcus thought for a second before replying "alright then, right now were in the frontier lands of the republic of Caledon, 30 years ago this region was abandoned due to the actions of the last demon lord." he paused "do you know who the demon lord is?" "Yes, I also know that the last demon lord was killed by the hero." "good, so as I was saying this region was abandoned until the hero retook the city of Morin and the crusaders clearing out most of the monsters that took up residence in this region finishing 5 years back, that's when my family moved here as settlers partially for a new life and partially because my wife was born in this land but had to abandon it when she was young." Marcus was about to continue until Cassidy opened the door and walked in, seeing we were drinking tea. She took the seat on the opposite side of me but wasn't directly opposite of me while avoiding eye contact "took you long enough." Henry said "shut up." Cassidy replied, Marcus then asked if she was alright while pouring her a cup of tea and she said she was fine just tired, no one decided to push the subject though Henry was looking between me and her probably realizing something happened.

Marcus decided to continue "now as I was about to say caledon is split into 3 region, the coast plains in the west, the forested hills in the east which is where we are and the ashen mountains which serves as the western border, past the mountains is a 1000 miles of monster infested woods. The republic was formed a few hundred years back when the 5 city states that ruled the coastal plains united together against an ancient powerful monster. The republic is ruled by a council of 25, 3 for each of the founding cities and 1 for each other major city in the republic, any questions?"

We sat in silence for a bit drinking tea while I though "you said the west was coastal so is there anything beyond the ocean? "Sure can, it's actually a sea that separates the continent we're on and the elven lands of silva." "I see, are there any other continents? "very far to the south east you can find the amazon continent which is where the amazon people live, I've also heard from sailors there is another continent just passed the other side of our continent but I don't know much about it."

we continued talking for a bit before we all had dinner together with cassidy still not looking at me, after we had dinner I decided to ask where I would be sleeping, henry answered first "we have a spare room upstairs you can take it as long as father is fine with it." Marcus responded "it's your as long as you want it though it isn't furnished so well have to figure something out" deciding I was tired and didn't care much I asked if they had some extra blankets I could borrow; which they luckily did, saying good night to the family I laid the thickest blanket on the ground and laid on it before throwing a much thinner blanket over myself and passing out.
