“Oh you know, freezing. Wondering about time.”

“Sounds boring”, Katie replied.

Katie then turned and headed up the stairs far faster than Mark remembered. By time she was at the top of the stairs, he suddenly remembered the Ashley Doll standing in his room.

“Katie…”, Mark called out.

“WHAT THE FU….”, Katie began. She paused in the middle of her expletive as Mark thought to freeze time.

When he got to to his room, Mark found a frozen Katie holding his door open, with a confused look on her face, mouth agape. She was looking directly at his Ashley doll still dressed in her cheerleader uniform.

“Oh Katie, why did you have to be so fast?”, Mark asked as he walked up to the frozen latina, turning her around by her waist to face him. Katie did not answer, simply staring forward with the same dumbfounded look, wobbling in place.

“Ugggg, what a mess!”, Mark calls out to no one. He was such an idiot, if only he had put away his Ashley doll. Now Katie would certainly freak out and leave, and he would loose his only friend. Maybe he could could gaslight her he thought, make Katie think she was seeing things.

“Or you can freeze her”, a voice in his head said.

“Who said that?”

“Make a Katie doll”, said the voice again.

That…was..not a terrible idea Mark thought as he looked Katie over. He always knew Katie was pretty, but now he could appreciate it. Katie’s brown eyes continue to stare forward, unaware that her fate was being decided, with nothing she could do about it.
