Quickly hide in the trap door before they find you

This is bad. Not wanting to get caught and put both Isabelle and Miranda in mortal danger, you quietly open the pretty well hidden trap door and squeeze your way inside. It's a tight fit, but you somehow manage to get in. You gently close the lid over you, and see a lock on it, quickly turning it, just in case.

The hiding place is small, and you barely have enough room to sit up in it, let alone stand. But, the floor is carpeted, and there is food and water down here. You suppose Miranda uses it to hide from men every now and then. Seeing as there's nothing else to do, you lie on your side, waiting for the guards to finish their search, hoping they won't find anything.

It's hard to hear anything down here, but you do hear the sounds of the guards walking around upstairs, and some muffled talking. They search the house for hours, but you can't fall asleep due to your worry. But then the iron footsteps of the guards stop, and you wonder if the coast is clear.
