Chapter 21

How does your conversation with Jamie go?
Push Jamie Into Liz
Paige looked a bit disappointed to see you interrupt the 1on1 time she has with Jamie. A buzz goes off in your pants and you suspect you lost points with her for butting in. Oh well, you can make it up later. Right now, you had to make sure Jamie keeps his eye on the prize.
You grab a beanie chair and drag it towards them, Paige on her hammock and Jamie sitting on a bench near her and say, “What was that all about, huh guys?”
“I had no clue Rick was into Rachel,” Paige says. “That came out of nowhere.”
“I don’t think he’s into her,” Jamie says, smiling and acting knowingly. “He just knows things are finished between him and Liz and is playing the other girls to help stay in the game.”
Paige looked peeved at that remark. “You’re awfully confident about yourself and Liz.”
“Paige, I told you I’m attracted to you and Liz both. We got a few days before recoupling, I told you I would get to know you guys both.
“I’m not going to play second string to Liz,” Paige says childishly.
Now would be a good time to butt in.
“I think Liz looked a bit jealous and angry when she saw Rick pick out Rachel,” You say casually. A hint of worry sparks in Jamie’s eyes.
“Really? She looked like she moved on from Rick after the date with Jamie,” Paige says.
“She said she wanted Rick to talk to her. I think maybe she just wanted Rick to try to fight for her,” you say shrugging. “Maybe she was using the date to get Rick to show her more tenderness. I don’t know.”
That really started putting doubts into Jamie’s face. Jamie went silent and things began working in his mind. You can practically see the gears turn inside him.
“She does seem like the type of girl that would do that,” Paige says... as if she’s one to talk.
A while later, Jamie excuses himself and leaves you alone with Paige and walks toward Liz to have a conversation. You had pushed Jamie back into Liz and were going to use the alone time with Paige to recoup the points you lost by wedging yourself between Paige and Jamie.
Paige eyes you and then smiles contemptuously.
“Don’t think I don’t see what you are doing,” Paige says.
“What?” You say, innocently.
Paige sighs and then says playfully, “Dear me, Matt. Here I thought you were Mr. Nice Guy. You have a wicked side to you playing all these games. I have to wonder if you’re doing it to save yourself or spend time with me.”
“You think too highly of yourself, hammock girl,” You say, rolling your eyes. Hammock girl was a name you came up for her after several times she had been called out for hogging the hammock.
Paige throws a pillow she was lying beside towards you. Which subsequently smacks your face. Which subsequently led to you carrying her and dumping her into the pool. Which subsequently led to you being dragged into said pool. Which subsequently led to a water fight. Which subsequently led to a food fight between you and Paige involving the leftover breakfast you had made. And so on and so on. All these events chained together, and somehow, a few hours later, you found yourself regretfully locked in a small closet with marker scribbling all over your face.
What happens in the next few days?
