Chapter 3 by nahdude nahdude

What happens to her?

Punished

Hi, I'm Tammy. I guess I'll start this by admitting that I'm a bit of brat. I should have started my junior year of college, but instead of going to class or studying, I was either too hungover or too enthralled in my shopping habits to bother. So yeah, I flunked out. Don't judge me, it happens to a lot of girls! Okay, maybe it was a little bit my fault, but they didn't have to kick me out for failing a measily four classes!

But kick me out they did, and instead of partying and hanging out with my friends I'm stuck here in my stupid house, with my stupid family. Alright, they aren't stupid, I'm just super pissed off. There is absolutely nothing to do, I only have one friend who stuck around this town after high school, and aside from holidays I don't see anyone else.

Of course, my parents aren't too happy about this either. They paid for two years worth of tuition, and unless I go back to school that is money right down the drain. Dad keeps telling me to get a job, but that sounds like so much work! And it's not like I need one, mom and dad pay for practically everything anyway.

Now that should be everything you need to know, which leads us to today:

Today started like any other day: I woke up at noon, get something to eat, and up until this evening I've been in my room on my computer browsing Facebook, insta, twitter, etc. It's starting to bore me, but there's nothing to do in this stupid town!

Anyway, as I'm browsing through instagram I hear a knock on my door. Must be mom, about to tell me that it's dinner time. Ugh. Family dinners. All we do is talk about boring shit and how great my twin siblings are. Whatever, I'm hungry anyway so I guess I can put up with it.

"Tammy!" my mom says forcefully as she pounds on my door. God he can be annoying.

"Coming, mom!" I say with a slight groan.

I close my laptop and walk to the door. I open it to reveal my mom and dad, who both looked rather disappointed. I'm guessing they aren't here to tell me about dinner.

"Soooo, what's for dinner?" I ask nervously.

"Sit down, Tammy, we need to talk." my says sternly.

Ah shit, here we go. Ever since I've gotten back one or both of my parents lectures me once every couple weeks or so about how lazy I am, how I need to get a job, how I need to start applying to school again. Blah, blah, blah. They've never came to my room though; it's always been in the living room or kitchen. So it's weird that they decided now was a good time to lecture me.

Regardless, I know where this is headed. I don't know why they keep doing this. I barely listen anymore, I just nod and say "Okay, I'll do it" to whatever they tell me I need to start doing. But I don't feel like going through the motions, so maybe if I just tell them to shove it they'll leave me alone.

"Oh great, another lecture, huh?" I ask sarcastically. "If I tell you I'll stop being a lazy brat can we just end it now? I'm getting tired of these talks."

"I suggest you cut the attitude, young lady, because we're tired of it." my mom starts. Whatever, she'll act pissed now but tomorrow it'll be fine. "We've been nothing but supportive of you, and yet you treat us like dirt. We paid your tuition, and you didn't even bother showing up to class. We let you come back home, not even expecting you to pay us back for wasting our money. We don't even charge you rent! All we've been asking is for you to is to simply LOOK for a job, and all you do is sit on your ass doing god knows what on your laptop ALL day. We barely even see you, and we're in the same house!" She's practically shouting as she finishes her speech. Whatever, I've heard it all before. I'm starting to get tired of this shit.

"Ugh, I've heard this a million times! Stop bothering me with stuff I already know!" I shout back. I just want to get back to my computer.

"Well evidently not, no matter how many times we lecture you, you never seem to listen." my dad replies.

"Duh, exactly! So if it doesn't work then why keep trying? Why would now be any different?" I retort. Sometimes I wonder why my parents are so dense sometimes.

"Because, we've had enough of your crap. It's time you start listening to us again, for a change." my mom adds.

"Yeah, whatever, I promise I'll be better." I offer half-heartedly.

"Cut it, Tammy. Your mother and I have decided that telling you to do something clearly doesn't work, so we're going to have to try something else." my mom hisses.

"Oh yeah, like what?" I ask, with a huff.

"It's time we go back to punishments. Those seemed to work when you were a teenager." yy mom says with a smirk.

"You've got to be kidding. Seriously, you're going to 'punish' me? What, am I fifteen years old?" I say as I roll my eyes.

"Frankly I can't even tell anymore, with how you've been acting lately. But yes, we are serious. If you're going to live in our house and act like a child, then we're going to treat you like one. And we're going to start by things taking away that you like. You have an easy life, and maybe you don't appreciate everything we do for you. So perhaps you'll learn some humility and respect if you more **** to give up something you hold dear." my mom says, clearly as if she thought I was back in high school or something.

"For real? You're going to take something away? That's so childish." I roll my eyes. "So like what, my phone? Laptop? Car?"

"A childish punishment for a childish girl." My father retorts.

"No, one of those things, actually. Something a bit more important..."

I say nothing and let her continue.

"No, we'll be taking your...

What will Tammy's parents take away from her as punishment?
